Valentine's Day

February 14 is the day of love. Whether it be a romantic love with your partner, a Galentine’s with your best girls, a day with your furry friend, or whoever else; Valentine’s Day is 24 hours of spending quality time and appreciating those who give you that warm feeling in your heart.

Naturally, it’s assumed that Valentine’s day consists of boxes of chocolate and expensive dinners but let’s be honest – there’s no right or wrong way to celebrate. Love is unique therefore it should be treated as such. Put a twist on your Valentine’s Day this year with one of these quirky but cute ideas for you and yours.

Valentine’s Schmalentine’s You Know You Love It

Yeah yeah, we’ve all heard before and we’re all guilty of saying it – “I hate Valentine’s Day.” Fair. A day that typically highlights romantic love is often disliked by those who aren’t in a relationship of some sort. But, for those who are in the phase of loving Valentine’s Day or enjoy playing the role of Cupid, then keep reading.

Recreate Your First Date

The first date is typically the most memorable for reasons we don’t really need to explain. Even if it was a comedy of mess-ups and nervous responses, it was the kickstart to your relationship the catalyst for the smile on your face right now as you think back to your own with your number one. Reignite the spark of the early butterflies by recreating your first date (this time maybe with fewer nerves.)

Create a Photo Album

If this is your forever person, forever friends, first pet, etc. then use the day of love to create a photo album of all of your favorite memories so far. Take those thousands of photos from your phone and sift through them to find your favorites. Print them and get to work!

Create a Cocktail [or mocktail] That Represents Your Love

Bring the bar to you and create a signature cocktail that symbolizes your relationship. Start your date by looking up recipes or if you’re really feeling adventurous, take a mixology class together. Here’s one recipe to get your creative juices flowing:

Try Something New TOGETHER

We grow together best when we’re placed in vulnerable situations. Having to navigate something neither has experienced challenges you to work together as a team which ultimately is what a relationship is. Use Valentine’s Day as your reason to do something together that neither of you has done before.

Stay Home and Relax

For couples who are always on the go, show each other love by taking time to relax and just being together. Don’t let the pressures of the day get the best of you and convince you that you need to do something. Sometimes doing nothing is that something for you to do.

Ultimately, however you choose to spend your Valentine’s Day is up to you, but no matter what you decide just make sure that everything is done with love.
