It’s official — Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin are now parents! Yep, the couple just announced that they have welcomed their first child together, and we couldn’t be more excited for them.
Esquire confirmed that the Suite Life of Zack and Cody alum gave birth to a baby boy on Monday, April 5 at 1:10 P.M. in Los Angeles, CA. They named the little guy — who weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. — Dakota Song Culkin, after Culkin’s late sister. Dakota tragically passed away at 29 years old, after she was struck by a car on December 9, 2008.
“We’re overjoyed,” the pair said in a joint statement to the outlet.

Brenda Song And Macaulay Culkin Met On Set In 2017
So it turns out, Song and Culkin actually met on set of the movie Changeland in 2017. They first sparked relationship rumors in September of the same year, after they were caught packing on the PDA at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.
“They were spotted holding hands and being cute with each other,” a source told Us Weekly at the time.
A few years after they started dating, the director of Changeland — Seth Green — told Esquire that he “didn’t see [their relationship] coming.”
In the same interview, Culkin admitted that it felt too good to be true.
“I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. [I thought] something bad’s gonna happen. Someone’s gonna die!” he said. But after a while, he realized, “No — sometimes it’s just good.”

They Couldn’t Stop Gushing Over Each Other In Interviews
They kept their romance pretty low-key over the years — they were only spotted together a few times — but in September 2018, the former Disney actress couldn’t stop gushing over her beau during an interview.
“[The relationship is] great!” she said. “I don’t like to talk about my personal life, but everything’s wonderful and I’m happy.”
As for what makes their love so special, Song previously told Entertainment Tonight that because they both grew up in the spotlight, they understand each other.
“It’s almost like child actors … don’t even have to talk about it. You just look each other in the eye and you nod and we know,” she said.
Plus, she opened up to Esquire about how happy Culkin makes her. She said, “You can’t be around him and not be happy.”
And when Culkin celebrated his 40th birthday last year, the brunette beauty posted the sweetest tribute for him.
“Happy 40th birthday to this magical being. I could sit here and write endlessly about how wonderful, kind, loving, genuine, loyal, honest, brilliant and hilarious you are, and how grateful I am that I get to share and do this life thing with you,” she wrote. “But firstly, that would take me an eternity and secondly, you won’t even see this because you don’t ever use instagram. Hahaha. My unicorn that I never thought could exist, I am luckiest person in the world because I am loved by you.”

She also told Esquire in 2020, “People don’t realize how incredibly kind and loyal and sweet and smart he is. Truly what makes Mack so special is that he is so unapologetically Mack. He knows who he is, and he’s 100 percent okay with that. And that to me is an incredibly sexy quality. He’s worked really hard to be the person he is.” So sweet!
They’ve Been Trying To Start A Family Together For A While
In 2018, the Home Alone star opened up about wanting to start a family with Song, and he could hardly contain his excitement.
“I’m gonna make some babies,” he admitted during an episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “This one’s a good one, so I’m probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit. I mean, we’ve definitely been practicing. I have a good life out here. I have a pretty little family — a pretty girl, a pretty dog, a pretty cat, and all that stuff. We’re gonna move. We’re doing the house thing and all that kind of stuff.”
A few years later, he spoke out about it again! He said they were “practicing a lot” in February 2020.
“We practice a lot,” he revealed to Esquire. “We’re figuring it out, making the timing work. Because nothing turns you on more than when your lady comes into the room and says, ‘Honey, I’m ovulating.’”
They Aren’t Married Just Yet
According to Esquire, the pair isn’t married just yet but they do live together. And get this — they adopted so many pets together! They reportedly share three cats, a few fish, a Shiba Inu and a blue-headed parrot. And now, with the addition of their baby boy, it sounds like they have a perfect family!
