Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Remark on Trump Prosecutor Sparks Social Media Outrage

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), a far-right House Republican, ignited social media mockery after suggesting that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be “going after rapists” instead of prosecuting Donald Trump on racketeering charges linked to the 2020 election.

However, many social media users pointed out that it was precisely what the district attorney was doing by pursuing legal action against Trump for sexual misconduct allegations.

Writer E. Jean Carroll filed a lawsuit accusing Trump of raping her in a Manhattan department store. A jury found him liable for sexual abuse, and a recent court decision upheld Carroll’s claim, stating that her assertion that Trump raped her was “substantially true.”

Judge Lewis Kaplan, in dismissing Trump’s defamation counterclaim, stated that Trump had indeed “raped” Carroll based on the commonly understood meaning of the term in contexts outside of the New York Penal Law. Numerous other women have also accused Trump of sexual misconduct.

Despite these well-publicized allegations and legal proceedings, Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to be unaware of these facts as she discussed the fourth indictment against Trump, which pertains to his alleged involvement in efforts to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.

Greene’s remarks also included criticism of Atlanta’s crime rate and an assertion that Georgia was plagued by predators and traffickers. Her comments sparked social media backlash, with users pointing out the irony of her statements and her lack of awareness regarding the ongoing legal cases against Trump for sexual misconduct.
