For months now, the media has hounded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with rumors of a marital divide. The pair have been spotted vacationing apart. And Meghan has even been photographed out and about without her impressive engagement ring. The ring, by the way, sports three diamonds from the personal collection of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana.

But the biggest rumors in recent days have focused on the fact that Meghan’s name was struck from the Invictus Games ceremony schedule. Every year since she first joined him at the Games in 2017, she has been heavily involved in her husband’s charity event. This year, Meghan’s name was abruptly scrubbed from the schedule. However, she and the younger prince seem to have put their alleged struggles aside for this important occasion.

Meghan And Harry’s ‘Rift’

In the world of the California royals, life is relatively difficult. Compared to their London counterparts, anyway. Prince Harry is currently at odds with his London family. This includes the royal heir and his only brother, Prince William. The royal family seems to blame Meghan Markle for tearing Harry away from them, and the current state of affairs.

The strain between families is likely putting strain on the relationship between Meghan and Harry themselves. After all, they’re standing basically alone on an island of turmoil. And the media has been following the pair mercilessly ever since they announced in 2020 that they would be stepping back from royal life.

That’s why it’s not surprising to find out that there are rumors of marital woes between the two. But representatives for the royals have denied any split. And they may have even been able to convince others that things were going well between them. Until, of course, the Invictus Games drama arrived.

Invictus Games Last Minute Change Sparks More Rumors

Until just recently, it was expected that Meghan Markle would be helping Prince Harry host the Invictus Games. In the past, she has always had an active role in the ceremonies. Harry’s drive to start the Games in 2014 was a result of his two tours in Afghanistan. There, he saw the struggles of soldiers and the aftermath of war up close.  This year, Meghan was originally scheduled to help host the closing ceremony. The ceremony schedule originally read that Meghan would “take to the stage to host the intimate and moving glimpse into the extraordinary journeys of the Invictus Games competitors.”

But abruptly, her name was removed from the roster. Officials for the Invictus Games say that the original schedule was an error, and she was never scheduled to speak. Nonetheless, the sudden change sparked even more rumors that things were not going well between Harry and Meghan.

Meghan Appears At Harry’s Side

And now, perhaps to put those rumors to rest, Meghan has appeared at her husband’s side in Germany. She explained her late appearance at the game, saying that the couple’s young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are to blame for her tardiness. In a speech during the ceremonies, Meghan explained, “Hi everybody. It is so special to be here, and I’m sorry that I was a little late to the party. Just like so many of you this is about family and friends and the community that Invictus has created, that Fisher House has created, so I just had to spend a little bit more time at home getting our little ones settled, getting milkshakes, doing school drop off, and then I landed a couple of hours ago.”

She added that her family is “really proud” to be part of the Invictus Games, as her husband raises money for wounded veterans. And she told viewers that she looks forward to the chance to bring their kids along to the Games someday.

So the question remains: Is this all a show to quiet rumors down, or are the pair really overcoming the odds and healing the rift between them? For now, only Prince Harry and Meghan Markle know what’s really going on between the two of them. But fans of the royal family are certainly watching and waiting to see what happens next.
