The ring itself sports three massive diamonds straight from the personal jewelry collection of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana of Wales. Because the ring is so special to Harry, Meghan has always treated it with great care and reverence. That’s why the ring’s absence is so glaring in a recent series of snaps of the duchess out and about in Montecito. The missing jewelry has fueled weeks of speculation and concern about the royal couple’s future.

Rumors Of A Major Marital Rift Dog The Duo

If you’re Meghan Markle, or any member of the royal family for that matter, you know that appearances matter. Every time you leave the house, you’re going to be followed by paparazzi and fans who notice and dissect every single detail of your behavior and appearance. Rumors of the pair’s alleged marital troubles have been flying in recent months. In July, media outlets began reporting that Meghan and Harry were undergoing a trial separation period. The pair has denied the rumors, but they persist nonetheless. On July 18, a source spoke with RadarOnline about the rumored split. Harry and Meghan are “trying to figure out what hit them,” according to the source. They added, “Harry doesn’t fit in Meghan’s tacky Tinseltown world.”

The insider mused that Harry now needs to “find himself” as the two allegedly take time apart to recover from neverending familial woes.

But a new sign from Meghan Markle suggests that the time apart may not be healing what ails the couple. Instead, it may be widening the rift.

Meghan was photographed out and about in Montecito in August, and her beautiful engagement ring was nowhere to be found. The ring, with its rumored $180,000 value, is a staple in the actress’s wardrobe, so photographers immediately zeroed in on the missing bling. The question remains, of course, as to whether or not it means anything about the long-term prospects of the pair. Fans online claim that the ring may have been missing from her wardrobe since March of 2023. Which suggests that the pair may have been in trouble far longer than the media has reported.

Harry and Meghan continue to deny rumors of time apart. However, Harry recently went on vacation in Tokyo without Meghan. He spent time with his close friend Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras, and the duo attended the ISPS Sports Value Summit. Taken out of context, a separate vacation has little meaning. Yet when you set the separate leisure time against the backdrop of rumors about their waning marital bliss, one has to wonder what’s really going on with the formerly royal couple.

Both Harry and Meghan no longer use their “His/Her Royal Highness” titles in public as of last month. The shocking public chastisement comes after years of strain between the California royals and their London counterparts. While the public demotion may be unrelated to the strain in the marital home, it comes at a difficult time.
