Memorial Day weekend is a time to gather with those we love to celebrate the bravery and selflessness of the fallen men and women who sacrificed their all for our freedom. The three-day weekend typically includes a day at the beach, a barbeque in the backyard, and/ or attending a memorial service in our community.
If you find yourself in the role of the host this weekend, you’ll probably need creative cocktail ideas to keep the celebration going. Check out these delicious recipes with spirits including Kraken, Empress 1908 Gin, Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey, and more.

Not only does this weekend honor the fallen soldiers but it’s also the kickoff of the summer. Keep these cocktail recipes handy for enjoying the warm weather all season long.

APPLE SMASH
- 2 oz Proper No. Twelve Irish Apple
- .75 oz lemon juice
- Splash of fresh pineapple juice
- 2-3 oz club soda
- Mint sprig for garnish
Directions: In a shaker, mix Proper No. Twelve Irish Apple, lemon juice, and a splash of fresh pineapple juice. Pour over ice and top with club soda. Garnish with a mint spring and enjoy!

KRAKEN DAIQUIRI
- 3 parts The Kraken Gold Spiced Rum
- 1.5 parts Lime Juice
- .5 part Sugar Syrup
- 1 12-ounce Bag of Frozen Passionfruit
- 1 part Orange Triple Sec.
Directions: Blend together. Pour into a daiquiri glass. Garnish with a half passion fruit & lime wedge.
SUMMER NIGHTS
- 1.5oz Dos Hombres Mezcal
- 1/2oz Apricot Liqueur
- 1/2oz Maraschino (Cherry Liquor)
- 3/4oz Aperol
- 3/4oz Lime Juice
Directions: Shake all ingredients together, Serve on the rocks.
Garnish: Lime Wheel
ROSA SANGRIA
- 2 oz. Rosa Regale Red
- 2 oz. Raspberry Vodka
- fresh muddles strawberries, raspberries and pineapple
Directions: Mix together equal part chilled Rosa Regale and raspberry vodka along with fresh muddles strawberries, raspberries, and pineapple. Serve over ice.
MALT WHISKEY BUCK
- 1 1/2 OZ Malt Whiskey
- 1/2 OZ Lemon Juice
- 1/4 OZ Rich Simple Syrup
- 4 OZ Grapefruit Soda
Directions: Add ingredients except for grapefruit soda to a shaker tin with ice. Shake until chilled and diluted. Double strain into a collins or highball glass with ice. Top with grapefruit soda. Garnish with a grapefruit half moon or peel.

KRAKEN BIOLUMINESCENT MIMOSA
- 1½ ounces Kraken Gold Spiced Rum
- 2 ounces of pineapple juice
- ½ ounce grenadine
- 4 ounces prosecco or champagne chilled
A Kraken spin on the trending Hawaiian Mimosa. Neon in color and the perfect summer beach day drink for ship smashing on the Caribbean vibes.
POOR UNFORTUNATE SOULS
The perfect cocktail for villains. Created by the most notorious Sea Beast, The Kraken, this cocktail is for all the anti-heroes.
- 1 oz Kraken Gold Spiced Rum
- 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
- 1 oz Raspberry Syrup
- Top with lemon-flavored soda
Directions: Pour Kraken Gold Spiced Rum and blue curacao into a glass. Add soda and syrup to taste.

CHERRY FILTHY FLETCHARITA x “CALM DOWN”

- 1 1⁄2 oz Flecha Azul Blanco Tequila
- 1⁄2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1⁄2 oz Filthy Black Cherry Syrup
- 1 oz sparkling water
- Garnish with 3 Filthy cherries
Directions: Fill a shaker with ice and combine tequila, fresh lime juice and black cherry syrup. Shake vigorously and strain into a coupe glass. Top off with sparkling water and garnish with Filthy Black Cherry.
