Ryan Edwards Is Photographed At A Concert With His Wife One Year After Being Fired From MTV

One of the original Teen Mom couples, Maci Bookout and Ryan Edwards were introduced to the world in 2008. They gave birth to their first child, Bently Edwards, on October 27, 2018, and were engaged by 2009. However, by 2010 their relationship had come to an end. The pair never had a solid foundation and constantly got into heated fights, even after their split. Aside from the MTV drama, Ryan himself had his own dramatic storylines. He’s struggled with drug addiction and even went to jail for it at a point in time. In 2019 he went to rehab and has been on the path to sobriety however, the mistakes of his past still creep up from time to time.

Back in October the father of three released an aggressive statement on Instagram to the “fans” who had complaints towards his actions.

“You dumb f*ckers got it all wrong. I’m just a sh*t bag because I’m white and privileged ya’ll idiots don’t know sh*t but what is on tv.” He continued, “You people are worthless cowards 10+ years of you people saying the same sh*t 10+ years I’v never meet one motherf*cker to say one negative thing to my face…” Edwards finished with writing, “You would think that with everything else going on in [our] Country right now you would question the way you act because it’s the people like you that act like whining a** b*tches that got us in this pathetic state. And it will be the ppl like me m wife and the other half of ppl that would rather do something positive with their life that has to fix it. So next time you go to say some stupid sh*t that you know nothing about… bite your tongue… the f*ck off! IT WILL HELP US ALL!”

Edwards has taken a bit of a hiatus from the spotlight, allowing the light to totally dim, however, very recently he was seen on Instagram smiling with his wife, Mackenzie Edwards.

A “Fun Date” For Two

On July 1, Mackenzie shared a selfie with her husband at a concert, smiling from ear to ear. She wrote, "My Mother's Day present was a HUGE success. We sang all night long with @poison @joanjett @motleycrue @defleppard. Such a fun date."

This post comes a year after the drama of Ryan being fired from the Teen Mom franchise.

From A Reunion To A Break-Up

During the Teen Mom reunion episode in 2021, an explosive fight broke out between the family of Edwards and Maci's current husband, Taylor Mckinney.

A source told The Ashley's Reality Roundup, “Ryan and Mackenzie, as well as Jen and Larry, were all on a call with production on Tuesday informing them they won’t be on the show anymore going forward. The Edwards were informed that Maci’s reps wanted to go a different direction and showcase all of her abilities. Maci went to production and explained she wanted her story to cover all the parts of her life and no longer focus on Ryan and his family.”

Ryan’s Addiction Past

Back in March a clip of the parents of Teen Mom star, Ryan Edwards, resurfaced on the internet. It revealed their heartbreak over Edwards struggle with addiction, leaving fans just as sad. The video was discovered by active Reddit users titled, "This just mde me sad… 'Ryan's all we have.'"

The clip reveals the parents of Edwards talking to the shows producer, Jenni, after him returning home from his time in rehab. His father shared, "I love the fact that if he calls me or I can him and he's on the phone, I can understand every word that he says. I love it." The couple admitted to it being "such a relief" having him in rehab. Edwards father continued, "It was the best I've ever felt because I knew he was gonna be okay. I knew that I wasn't gonna get a call and somebody tell me that I needed to come to the hospital or whatever."

In tears, Edwards mother added in, "I wonder everyday. My guards always up. I mean, I'm always looking for signs of something. I don't want something to happen and think I could've done something different."

The couple admitted to knowing that something was going on with Ryan in the midst of his addiction. "We're not stupid and we're not naive," stated his father. And although there's always room for greater knowledge and understanding, they explained to the producer that in time they did become aware of his behaviors and triggers when in an intoxicated state.

Teen Mom fans flooded the comment section of Reddit video to express their emotions towards Edwards parents. One fan wrote, "Just super hard trying to love someone out and past their addictions." Another said, "It is so hard loving an addict. It's so hard to navigate and you're always wondering if your actions are enabling or helping." One other commenter chimed in on the battles of loving an addict saying, "It's such a catch 22 because society should have an addict in a home but it's maddening to be the one who has to live in the home with the addict."

Other users kept it short saying, "That's heartbreaking!" and "Man, my heart goes out to them. That's tough."

Ryan's son, Bently, 13, refuses to see his dad until he agrees to go to therapy with him. Bently, has been seeing a therapist for the past two seasons of the MTV show for what we believe to be about his fathers struggle with addiction and his legal battles.

On the other hand however, Mackenzie has continuously stood by Ryan's side, even at his worst (and a time that could've killed them both.)

A Serious Question For Mack

In March, a fan wrote on Mackenzie's social media, “Can I ask a serious question. What made you go through marrying Ryan when he was so high? So high in fact he could have killed you both?”

The TV personality responded with grace saying, “I was young, confused, nervous, and made a very bad decision. I’m so thankful no one was hurt.” She concluded by stating, “We made peace with it a long time ago together.”

And, she's proven that be true with this new photo of them smiling and enjoying life while listening to some live music.
