Mark Zuckerberg has officially called off the boxing match with Elon Musk, stating that he’s tired of waiting for Musk to commit and take the event seriously. The Facebook founder announced his decision on Sunday, expressing his frustration with the planning process and Musk’s excuses for postponement.

In a statement, Zuckerberg made it clear that he believes Musk isn’t genuinely interested in the match. He mentioned how he had offered a real date for the fight, and even UFC president Dana White had proposed to turn it into a charity competition. However, Musk’s lack of confirmation and the subsequent requests for postponement, including mentioning surgery and practicing in Zuckerberg’s backyard, led Zuckerberg to believe that Musk wasn’t committed to the event.

Zuckerberg stated, “If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I’m going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously.”

Zuckerberg has been expressing doubts about Musk’s intentions for a while, claiming that Musk was intentionally delaying the process. Despite recent attempts by Musk to generate excitement for the fight, Zuckerberg’s decision to call it off seems final. This move by Zuckerberg raises questions about whether Musk will now take the event more seriously or if the potential showdown between the tech moguls will remain a missed opportunity.
