Omarosa Turns On Donald Trump: It Would Be Hard ‘To Run for President From Jail’

Omarosa Manigault Newman may have once been the golden child employee of Donald Trump, but no longer. Omarosa is speaking out about Trump’s run for President in 2024. And what she has to say is not entirely flattering. The once-loyal Apprentice star has been on the outs with Trump for some time now. But the comments about his 2024 run are perhaps her staunchest split with the Presidential hopeful.

Omarosa first appeared on The Apprentice with Donald Trump in the show’s first season, in 2004. She rose to fame quickly for her blunt, no-nonsense attitude and her willingness to pick fights. Which is a nice way of saying that she was the favorite contestant that viewers loved to hate.
Trump seemed enchanted with Omarosa after her time on The Apprentice, and the two worked together again once Trump gained the White House. Prior to Trump’s run in 2016, Omarosa was a “die-hard” Hillary Clinton supporter and lifelong registered Democrat. But she abruptly pivoted when her former boss seemed poised to take the White House. She became an outspoken pro-Trump voice, and he rewarded her with a job. She was named assistant to the President and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
But her time in the White House was a brief one. December 13, 2017, the White House announced Newman’s resignation, effective January 20, 2018. Then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said she was fired for “money and integrity issues”, along with “inappropriate use of company vehicles”. Omarosa has disputed that account and says she resigned on her own.
But after she left the White House, Omarosa released a series of tapes that she recorded while working with Trump. And in 2018, she published a book titled Unhinged. It told the tale of her time in the White House and did not paint a flattering picture of Trump.

Now, Omarosa is back at the criticism of Donald Trump. And this time, she’s predicting his downfall.
During a press junket for E!’s House of Villains, Omarosa spoke with Page Six about her thoughts on the former President’s new campaign. “I think it would be very hard for Donald Trump to run for president from jail. It’ll be very hard for [Trump to run for president again].”
Additionally, Omarosa has opened up to ETOnline about the mistake she made in believing in Trump in the first place. She told the outlet, “For me, I just can’t believe I fell for a con man, a con man who turned out to be the biggest fraud. I mean, literally found by the courts to be a big fraud, so a lot of the backdrop of our show, a lot of The Apprentice that we thought was real was fabricated, and it was just a house of cards. So, I mean, we were duped, and we were young entrepreneurs thinking that we were really gonna learn something from this brilliant businessman. All we learned was not the art of the deal but the art of the con.”
For his part, Trump has called Omarosa “whacky” and suggested that “everyone” at the White House “hated her.” Their evolution from pals to enemies has been a messy one. And it would seem that Omarosa is not done throwing the gloves at Donald Trump‘s feet.
