Made Event, the company which founded and organizes EZoo, mindfully curates its lineup of sounds which spans numerous subgenres of electronic dance music (EDM). Previous years, 2019's "Evolved" and 2021's "Supernaturals," have showcased major names in EDM including Kaskade, Zedd, Tiesto, Alesso, and Illenium. And, with this year being titled "3.0" it was only right for the organizers to supply a spectacular list of artists.

Antheon, the main stage, included the recognizable names of Martin Garix, DJ Snake, and Afrojack with other popular names in the EDM world, SLANDER, Seven Lions, Chris Lake, and Gorgon City. Each of these artists put their craft on display with creative remixes to some of today's biggest hits as well as new music that has yet to be heard. Chris Lake threw the dance party of a lifetime and Martin Garix brought the nostalgia with his famous hit, "Scared to be Lonely."

Another artist that took over the main stage for his first EZoo performance was GORDO, and wow, what a show he put on.

Bringing The Heat To The Zoo

Diamonté Anthony Blackmon, previously famous under the name Carnage, is now GORDO, his tech-house alias. And, if you think you haven't heard him before, think again. Most recently, GORDO, assisted Drake in producing his newest release, Honestly, Nevermind. The cutting-edge tech-house sound featured in Drake's 7th studio album is a result of multiple studio sessions with the music scene's newest and most talented producer.

On the album GORDO produced:

  1. Currents
  2. Calling My Name
  3. Sticky (#1 debut on Apple Music's Today's Hits playlist)
  4. Massive
  5. Ties that Bind

So you can already assume that he played those hits at EZoo, and you are not assuming wrong.

The tech-house DJ brought massive hits to the stage. Anyone in the crowd who thought they were getting tired instantly got their second wind when GORDO got behind the turn tables. He captured the crowd with relevant tracks that everyone enjoys, even those who are strangers to EDM. And, he even took his day one fans back in time with iconic Carnage hits that leveled up the energy of his show greater than he started it with.

GORDO continued his day into the night all the way until the next morning with an after party at Somewhere Nowhere in NYC on Sunday.
