“I am very saddened to inform all those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York city. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pried and joy were her three (3) children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana! ”
Besides the former Presidents official statement, her family and children also made an official statement which read,
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country,” the statement continued. “She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination. She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren.”
Born Ivana Marie Zelnickova in Czechoslovakia in the city of Gottwaldov, on February 20th, 1949. A survivor of war and student of Charles University in Prague where she had earned a Physical Education Master’s Degree in 1972. It was reported that she had been selected as an alternate on the Czechoslovak Ski Team during the 1972 Winter Olympics.
Ivana moved to Canada, where she later made her way to America and met her second husband Donald Trump, who she married in 1977. They had three (3) children Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr. She was previously married to Alfred Winklmayr in 1971 which lasted only two (2) years from 1971-1973. She became a United States Citizen in 1988.
Donald and Ivana were known as one of the greatest of power couples in the 1980s, working together to build an empire. Ivana worked with Donald on many high-profile real estate developments as a senior interior designer including the Trump Tower in New York, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, held a high-ranking Executive position within the Trump Plaza, and Trump’s Castle Hotel and Casino.
With success and riches comes obvious scandal, something Donald Trump knew much of already, known as a womanizer in his prime he had an affair with Marla Maples, a TV Personality and Model which ultimately led to a messy divorce and Donald’s second marriage. Ivana and Donald were married from 1977-1992.
Ivana was awarded fourteen (14) million dollars, a 45 room Connecticut mansion, an apartment in the Trump Plaza, and the use of Mar-a-Lago for one (1) month out of the year, during the settlement, with I’m sure some other fine perks and extra goodies. After the messy divorce she and Donald remained friends and seemed to have a healthy co-parenting relationship with Ivana still heavily involved in the Trump family business.
She did however move on with her life romantically and re-married a couple more times to Riccardo Mazzucchelli (1995 - 1997), and Rossano Rubicondi (2008 - 2009). She later connected with her partner Roffredo Gaetani.
She is survived by her three (3) children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric.
