A Nasty Fight and A Crew On Strike Puts The Teen Mom Family Reunion On Pause

Following a massive fight between two Teen Mom castmates and a lack of health and pension benefits for the crew, production for the Teen Mom Family Reunion has been paused. This drama has threatened season two of the Family Reunion production if replacements can't be found.

DeJesus and Jones Sent Home

During filming for Teen Mom Family Reunion Briana DeJesus and Ashley Jones got caught up in a nasty fight, which included their moms, which ended in all four being sent home.

A source behind the scenes reported to The Ashley's that the first round of drama began at one of the first cast meals. “Roxanne made a comment about how the grandmas from the show need to be supportive of each other and [Tea] took it as a jab at her. She told Roxanne to say what she wanted to say, so Roxanne started talking about some of the stuff Tea has said about Briana on social media." The source added, “They started screaming and cussing at each other and tried to get at each other but it was broken up by security."

And, it wasn't until later that night that everything hit the fan. “Ashley and Tea walked up on [Roxanne and Briana] in the kitchen and they all started screaming at each other,” a source said. “That’s when it turned physical. Ashley spit on Briana, and then someone started throwing stuff. It got more physical before it was finally broken up. But all four of the women were fighting each other.”

Another behind-the-scenes source also revealed that "Everyone had to sign documents promising they would not get physical with each other," which means that legal action could take place next.

However, the show must go on with the rest of the cast. Well, that's if the crew can get themselves in check as well.

Scrambling For a Production Team

The crew members who are currently filming Teen Mom Family Reunion have put down their cameras. The Ashley's shared that the strikers are said to be camera operators, audio, sound techs, etc.

This is a "recognition strike" according to the IATSE, which is defined as “a strike organized by workers against their employer, seeking to force the employer to acknowledge the union as their collective bargaining agent.”

The union explained, "The crew on this production is demanding health and pension benefits that are being provided to the directorial team."

In a message to its members, the union said, “We are asking IATSE members not to cross this picket line to work on this production. If you are contacted to work on this production, please immediately contact your local union’s business agent.”

This crew is not who MTV uses for Teen Mom 2 or Teen Mom OG. "They’ve used the company for [‘Family Reunion’], both seasons,” one behind-the-scenes source told The Ashley. “We’ve heard that it’s because the network felt that the [regular company that does ‘Teen Mom’ show production’] didn’t have enough control of the set, but not sure if that’s true. So there are different producers, tech guys, etc. on this set than the cast is used to.”

A source shared with The Ashley, “They are frantically looking for [crew members] who are willing to fly up to Oregon immediately so they can finish the filming and don’t have to shut down."

“They’re basically begging people to come up there,” another person told The Ashley. “Between the fights, some COVID issues and now the crew strike, this filming has been plagued with issues. It’s kind of a disaster!”
