The Ritz-Carlton brand is a timeless name that conjures images of elegance, class, and luxury.
New York City has just welcomed a new member of the Ritz-Carlton family, with Ritz-Carlton New York NoMad opening doors yesterday - and it's the perfect place to perch above the city and take in the views, enjoy some on-site amenities, or rest your head at night after a day of adventuring.
With the Ritz-Carlton name shaping your comfort and Chef José Andrés feeding your soul, it's a one-two destination taking the city by storm.
NoMad - Now Open with Room for Adventure
When you roll up to a Ritz-Carlton property, you know to expect the best.
With NoMad, guests can expect the best with a New York twist.
- a statement from Donna McNamara, Vice President and Global Brand Leader for The Ritz-Carlton.
The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad represents a milestone moment in the evolution of The Ritz-Carlton brand. With an exquisite design that blends the best of the brand and the destination, combined with the finest amenities, culinary offerings, and highly personalized service, The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad delivers an experience tailored to today’s luxury guest. I know that travelers and locals alike will enjoy settling into Nubeluz, our rooftop bar, for spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline.
The hotel's design was, "conceived as a pillar of the city’s renowned floral district," and borrows heavily from the beauty of nature in its execution.
Rooms range from the standard to the sprawling, with an interior design palette in soft creams, golds, white and dark wood touches throughout.
Room options include 250 guestrooms with 19 suites, plus an additional 16 one and two-bedroom penthouse residences.
The design's homage to nature includes floral features throughout the hotel, alongside sleek lines and architectural features that borrow from New York's grid city streets.
Amenities and a Brilliant New Skyline
The NoMad resides in the North of Madison Square Park neighborhood, soaring 50-stories above its surroundings, forever changing the skyline in a breathtaking and artistic way.
The NoMad team shares in a statement, "Rising 500 feet above New York’s streets, the hotel takes its place within the city skyline as one of the tallest buildings in NoMad, the birthplace of American popular music at Tin Pan Alley and today a nexus of art, entertainment, fashion and technology. World-renowned design teams including Rafael Viñoly Architects, Rockwell Group, Lazaro Rosa-Violan Studio, Martin Brudnizki, and SUSSURUS International deliver a bold, contemporary design that pays homage to the hotel’s location in the city’s vibrant Flower District. An impressive art collection by art curator, Culture Corps and Founding Partner Yvonne Force Villareal includes local artists Pat Steir, Ross Bleckner, and Donald Baechler. Seasonal floral installations throughout the hotel create a unique welcome experience for guests visiting the blossoming neighborhood."
On-site amenities include bathroom products by Diptyque, offering the scent called Philosykos in an ode to the fig tree.
On-property dining is out of this world, with options for every taste bud, a Club Lounge option for club members, along with a 6,800 square foot spa and fitness center to make the most out of your relaxation time.
Back to that dining - because you won't want to miss it.
- a statement from Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, President of Flag Luxury Group
For our fifth hotel under The Ritz-Carlton brand, we were inspired by the brand’s rich history and legacy of unwavering commitment to excellence. We married the genuine refined service that The Ritz-Carlton is known for with the kitchen of humanitarian and Michelin-starred Chef José Andrés for the next generation of a hotel luxury experience.
On-site options include the following:
- Zaytinya: An innovative mezze menu and cocktail selection pulling from Turkish, Greek and Lebanese inspiration cuisine. Designed by The Rockwell Group, this restaurant seats 140.
- Nubelez: On the hotel's rooftop, guests can enjoy the 270-degree view of the Manhattan skyline, offering, "classic and signature cocktails, light bites, and an array of Tablas where guests can build boards of jamon, queso, and embutidos hailing from [Jose] Andrés' native Spain."
- The Lobby Lounge and Bar: The perfect place to enjoy a light pastry or bite in the morning on your way out the door - or before climbing back into bed for some more pampering. Guests can stop by throughout the day for a rotating timely menu which includes afternoon champagne and a delightful nightcap.
But perhaps most enticing is Chef José Andrés Bazaar, coming later this year. The team says of this upcoming venue in a statement, "This high-end avant-garde dining destination is a wild sensory adventure born of Andrés’ Spanish roots where sophisticated cuisine, artful service, and playful theatrics come together. Each location has its own vision and promises both an inspiring both its culinary experience and dynamic aesthetic. The Bazaar, designed by Barcelona-based studio Lázaro Rosa-Viola, uses painted and natural wood, texturized glass, ceramic tiling, and drapery to create an atmosphere that is warm and distinct."
Every inch of a Ritz-Carlton property is designed to please, and NoMad is all that and a bag of chips.
With a new unique location in NoMad, the tallest view around, serene elegance throughout and an homage to nature and the intersection between mankind's innovation and the planet's beauty, New York NoMad is a must-see stop on your tour of The Big Apple.
