A friend of Prince William and Kate Middleton is blasting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for putting the heir and his wife through even more sh-t.
And angry friend of the elder royal couple is speaking out after the younger couple was involved in a paparazzi car chase controversy in New York last week.
Last Wednesday, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said in a statement, “[May 16], the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and [Meghan’s mom] Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi.”
They added, “This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers.”
The statement continues, “While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety. Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all involved.”
Harry and Meghan’s team allege that traffic violations incurred during the chase included driving on the pavement and through red lights, reversing down a one-way street, illegally blocking a moving vehicle and driving while photographing and while on the phone. They also allege that that while those involved were confronted by uniformed police multiple times, they continued the pursuit and that there is footage taken from security along with other evidence to support these allegations.
But the NYPD and one of the cab drivers who ferried the couple that night have downplayed the incident, saying they were never in serious danger and the situation was pretty much under control.
A friend of William and Kate has something to say about it, too.
GBN reports, “The Prince of Wales’s friend said that he understands Harry’s anger towards the paparazzi but branded the Duke’s version of events as ‘hysterical’.
Asked if Prince William would side with Prince Harry on the issue of invasive paparazzi, the friend said: ‘William and Catherine have put up with s–t like this in the past.’
‘Everyone understands his anger at the photographers, but making hysterical statements doesn’t help matters, especially when, as the Queen might have said, recollections may vary.’

A friend of King Charles has also shared an insight into the monarch’s view on his son’s statement.
The King’s friend told The Daily Beast: ‘Charles will completely understand Harry being upset at being pursued by the paparazzi.
‘He knows how scary it can be.
‘But he has always tried to get Harry to understand that complaining about photographers or the media is pointless.
‘It just makes it all worse.'”
Reports suggest that the London royals have not reached out to Harry and Megha to check on them in the wake of the car chase furor, amid rumors that King Charles and his Queen are feuding over Harry’s role in the royal family.
Even though they know that Harry is probably facing some trauma considering the similarities between what he and Meghan experienced this week and how Harry’s mom, Princess Diana, famously died at the hands of a paparazzi car chase.
