On Saturday, Patrick Mahomes and his fiancée, Brittany Matthews, welcomed their baby girl, Sterling Skye Mahomes.
The superstar quarterback is officially a girl dad! In an Instagram post shared by Patrick Mahomes, the couple’s first child is seen holding tight to her parents’ hands. Also, in the post, Brittany Matthews is wearing a beautiful necklace with her daughter’s name. The necklace is also sterling silver, which correlates with the baby’s name.

The news of Sterling’s birth spread quickly, and friends and family began sharing their love and support for the new baby with many comments and posts congratulating the new parents. Patrick Mahomes’ brother, Jackson Mahomes, was quick to comment, “YOU WILL BE THE BEST DAD!!!” on his brother’s Instagram post of the baby. Singer and songwriter Gwen Stefani also commented on Mahomes’ post, saying, “Congratulations!! Cool name!”
The name of the Kansas City Chief star’s daughter has been a trending topic since the Instagram announcement. Sterling Skye Mahomes is a gorgeous name and is sure to gain popularity thanks to the football star and his fiancée.
The new parents announced the pregnancy back in October and released the gender of the baby a few weeks later. The announcement of both the pregnancy and gender reveal was made on Instagram. The couple both posted a photo of Matthew’s belly with a sonogram in their hand. Matthew’s caption said, “Mom & Dad, taking a small detour to the wedding.” Meanwhile, Mahomes captioned the photo with a simple red heart emoji.

Mahomes continued to play throughout Matthews’ pregnancy in the NFL season and made it to the Super Bowl. Being a supportive fiancée, Matthews stood in the stands of a majority of the Chiefs games. At the 2021 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida, Matthews was weeks away from giving birth but was at the game to support her fiancée’s team.
