Ever since it premiered, people have been pretty obsessed with the new “Girl Dad” podcast (which you can stream exclusively on the brand new CELEB app). For those who haven’t listened to it yet, it stars CELEB creator Nik Richie and his 9-year-old daughter, Press Dahl Lamas-Richie, and they talk about “unicorns, aliens and everything in between.” Well guys, we had a chance to sit down with Press to discuss how the podcast came to be, where she sees it going in the future, her dream job and so much more.
“The reason I’m creating this ‘Girl Dad’ podcast with you is because I feel like fathers in our generation don’t really have the wherewithal or the time to spend with their beautiful daughters, so I want to take this hour to actually get to know you,” Nik said in the first episode of the podcast. And according to Press, it was her idea to start a podcast in the first place! Why? Well, “I love to talk,” she explained, when we asked her how “Girl Dad” came to be.
Press Was Nervous At First, But Now, She’s A Natural

“It’s really cool because I never pictured myself actually doing a podcast. It’s fun working with my dad because we get to know each other a little bit more,” she told us exclusively, admitting that she was a little nervous in the beginning. “At first, I just gave one word answers, it was kind of intimidating.”
But now, the 9-year-old is a natural. In Episode two, she talked about what she wanted to be when she grew up, and it sounds like she definitely has a clear plan for her future. The young star’s dream job is to become a singer, but in case that doesn’t work out, she has nine other options — including a tap dancer, a model, an actress and more. Plus, her mom, Shayne Lamas, was the star of a 2009 reality show, called Leave It to Lamas, and she told us that she would love to bring it back and star in it one day. She also revealed that she recently attended a pageant (where she got top 25!) and she hopes to do more of those in the future. Press explained that she doesn’t “really care” about becoming famous, but that it would “be great” if it did happen one day.
She Has Big Hopes For ‘Girl Dad’

Press — whose favorite celebrities include Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez (she told us she’s too old for JoJo Siwa now) — is already on the road to fame, with more than 4,000 followers on Instagram. The podcast quickly garnered a lot of attention online, and it’s all pretty exciting to her.
“I feel like I’m at a concert or something, it’s exciting,” she said, when we asked her how it felt to know that so many people were listening to her speak on the podcast. As for her goals for “Girl Dad,” Press explained, “I want it to be popular because there’s a lot of good stuff that we talk about that I want to share with the world.”
“I hope as a 9-year-old you can help other girls, and fathers like myself can reconnect with their daughters and take the time to actually communicate,” Nik told his daughter in the first episode of the show. “Obviously your world is different from mine — I see things in black and white and you see things in rainbows and I want to learn about that.”
Music Is Her Number One Passion

Press also said that she hopes to start another podcast one day, where she strictly talks about music, since that’s her number one passion. And get this — at only 9 years old, she has already written a few of her own songs.
“I really want to show my voice to the world,” she gushed. “I’ve wrote a few songs, they’re not [finished yet], they’re really short. I also want to learn how to play guitar, I have one but it’s not tuned.”
Plus, Press has plans to take over her dad’s business when he’s too old to run it. She revealed, “My life goal is to take over CELEB. That would be cool, I like how it’s all about celebrities and it has a section where you can listen to our podcast.”
The future is definitely bright for Press, but for now, she’s happy talking about Roblox on the “Girl Dad” podcast. Make sure you head to the CELEB app to listen to it if you haven’t already, and follow Press on Instagram at @PressLamas.
The “GirlDad” podcast is available for streaming only on the CELEB Magazine app.
