The royal princes and their relationship are the talk of the town, so to speak. Prince Harry and Prince William grew up in an unimaginable situation: surrounded by the press at all times and expected to behave like perfect gentlemen from birth. While their mother, Princess Diana, protected them from the pressures of royal life as much as she could, the duo still grew up in an unprecedented era of constant media access and scrutiny.
Whether or not the brothers had a good relationship growing up depends on who you ask. But they were at least able to work together and behave amicably in public. Now, however, that time of camaraderie seems to be over. And one expert believes it may be over for good. According to someone in the know, the two may never kiss and make up.
Harry And William Play An Intentional Game Of ‘Two Ships In The Night’
Both Prince Harry and Prince William are under intense scrutiny in recent months. Ever since Harry and his American actress wife Meghan Markle split for the US, media outlets have been scrambling to get details on how the brothers’ relationship is progressing. Both brothers have remained tight-lipped about their familial bonds, however.
And what is left unsaid may tell us more than what the two would be otherwise saying. Because the two princes seem to have intentionally planned to miss one another while in the same country this month. Prince William hopped across the pond to announce finalists for Earthshot. Earthshot acknowledges the movers and shakers who are advancing the fight against climate change, Williams’ personal crusade. Prince Harry was overseas attending the Invictus Games but returned home while William was still in the United States.
However, despite being in the same country on a rare occasion, the brothers intentionally did not meet up. And that may speak volumes. William, after all, is the royal heir to the throne of King Charles. Which means that he takes any opportunity to shake hands and make peace seriously. If William intentionally snubbed Harry before returning to London, it was no accident. Additionally, September 15th was Harry’s birthday. When asked if he had forgotten his brother’s birthday, William seemed to laugh off the idea that he should take note of the date.
Prince Harry And Prince William Unlikely To Ever Reconcile
And that cavalier attitude may be why Prince Harry and Prince William can never reconcile. A seasoned royal commentator, Jennie Bond, recently spoke with the media about her thoughts on the duo’s relationship. Bond says she believes that Harry has “no intention” of making nice with his brother. She adds, “There is no way back for the brothers. I just can’t see it.”
She goes on to explain, “Because of these entrenched positions and the fact Harry has visited the U.K. without either of them, as far as we know, lifting a finger to phone or text or meet up, I really can’t see them mending the rift any time soon.” And she muses, “William is hurt so deeply that I think he probably just blanks Harry out of his mind most of the time. He has moved on with his life, and I guess so has Harry.”
Harry And William Exchange Hurt Feelings
When Harry and Meghan decided to step down from royal duties in 2020, it was seen by many in the royal family as a betrayal. But things could have been mended, perhaps, if that had been the end of things. Then, along comes Harry’s memoir, “Spare.” In “Spare,” Harry blasts royal family members for their behavior and reveals what he considers to be the corrupt and toxic environment he grew up in. William seemed to be deeply hurt by the implications of Harry’s book. And Harry seems to have been carrying resentment for years, which blossomed into something more as William continued to tow the family line rather than supporting his brother.
It is believed that Prince Harry and Prince William have not spoken at length, if at all, since the funeral of their late grandmother, the former Queen Elizabeth. Whether or not they can mend fences remains to be seen. But for now, hurt feelings reign supreme.
