Reverse Snub: Prince Harry Returns to US Without Visiting Charles or William

Prince Harry has returned to the United States after testifying in a landmark cell phone hacking lawsuit against British tabloid Mirror Group Newspapers (MGN).
And he managed to get one jab in against his family in the process.
After the royal family in London publicly snubbed Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, Lilibet, on her birthday – and son Archie, on his birthday – it was clear that communications between the two clusters of royals have broken down.
Never was that more apparent, though, than when Harry returned to California yesterday – without visiting his brother or father.
Harry’s visits to the United Kingdom these days are few and far between. Well, if you ignore his rapid-fire visits due to the coronation and then trial.
But as a general rule, the California royals have been keeping their distance, so this was a vanishingly rare opportunity for Harry to see King Charles and Prince William, and perhaps mend some fences.

It would seem, however, that the youngest of Charles’ two sons had no interest in shaking hands or making nice.
The Independent writes, “A royal expert suggested that the radio silence from senior members of the royal family reflected the “strained relationship” between the King and Lilibet’s parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
RS Locke, a royal commentator and freelance writer, told The Independent: ‘King Charles’s decision not to publicly acknowledge his granddaughter’s birthday, nor Prince Archie’s last month, is a reflection of their strained relationship and likely an indication of the social media practices going forward.’”
And now, Harry seems to be returning the silence in kind.
Things also seemed to reach a fever pitch in May when Harry and Meghan were involved in a car chase with paparazzi in New York City, which their representative called “near-catastrophic.”
The London royals apparently did not reach out to the couple to check on them and see if they were doing okay.
In the wake of the car chase, reports suggested that it wasn’t as perilous as they initially claimed.
However, given the fact that Harry’s own mother, Princess Diana, died in a car chase with paparazzi when he was younger, one would assume that the royal family would know just how traumatic the incident would be for the younger prince.
Ever since Harry released his memoir, “Spare,” revealing the struggles he went through as an acting member of the royal family, things have been tense.
Harry seems bound and determined to expose the rotten underbelly of the agreement between British tabloids and the Institution.
While the royal family seems bound and determined to maintain the status quo.
Harry’s brother William pled with him to drop the cell phone hacking lawsuit, and the royal heir accepted a massive settlement out of court to drop his case.
But Harry refused to drop the case, refused to accept the settlement, and is pushing forward with the hope that he can change things for future royals.
Future royals like his son and daughter, who he hopes to spare the drama, privacy invasions and trauma that he experienced as a child.
