According to one royal expert, Prince Harry would be welcomed back in the royal family under one condition – splitting from Meghan Markle.
Ever since Harry and Markle made the shocking announcement in 2020 that they would be stepping back from royal duties, there has been a growing rift with the royal family in London.
Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito, and have been raising their two children in relative peace.
But the drama with the royal family has continued to play out – with public snubs, awkward moments, and the London royals seemingly abandoning Harry to handle a landmark phone hacking lawsuit alone.

In fact, they didn’t just abandon Harry to the lawsuit, both King Charles and Prince William are rumored to have tried to pressure Harry into dropping the lawsuit and taking a settlement payout. Harry refused, wanting to fight the battle in court.
Things worsened when Harry published his memoir, “Spare,” which accused the royal family of some uncomfortable behavior, and slammed the Institution for cozying up to the British tabloids which caused the death of Harry and William’s mother, and hounded the young royal his whole life.
One royal expert says that there is a way for Harry to bridge the gulf between the families and to mend fences, but it would require a drastic change.
OK! reports, “According to royal expert Jennie Bond, should the Duke of Sussex ever split from his wife, Meghan Markle, his relatives would be more than happy to bring him back into the fold despite the shocking accusations Harry threw out in his book, Spare.
‘I think that Harry, without Meghan, would be forgiven and welcomed back into the royal fold in the fullness of time,’ the commentator explained, adding that it’s ‘still unlikely at the moment.’
‘I think there is still enough goodwill towards Harry, well, to the old Harry that we all remember,’ she noted. ‘He could recoup the ground he’s lost and in time and be welcomed back. But I don’t think it’s anywhere on the horizon.'”
Bond’s speculation comes on the heels of a report that a former butler of the royal family, Paul Burrell, told the media that he believes it’s only a matter of time before Harry returns to the fold.
Burrell told media outlets, “I have no doubt that when this happens, because we all know that it will happen, when it does happen then he will return to the United Kingdom and I think his father, the King, and his brother, the Prince of Wales will both greet him back into the country with open arms.”
There have been reports that Harry and Meghan might split, and who can blame them with the enormous amount of pressure and outside scrutiny their marriage has been under.
But so far, those reports remain unfounded rumors and speculation.
For now, the Montecito royals are holding tightly to their love and making it work – an impossible task as they find themselves arrayed against the combined might of the British tabloid empire, and the royal family’s Institution with its endless expectations.
If Harry and Meghan can withstand the next year, they’re probably in it for the long haul – but that’s a big “if.”
