Prince Harry recently shared a deeply emotional story about the poignant moment when he introduced the love of his life, Meghan Markle, to the memory of his late mother, Princess Diana.
Diana, the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, tragically lost her life in a car crash in Paris at the young age of 36 on August 31. She was laid to rest on a serene island situated at the heart of the picturesque ornamental lake, known as The Round Oval, nestled within the Pleasure Garden of Althorp Park. Unfortunately, her gravesite remains inaccessible to the public.
The Duke of Sussex touched the hearts of Princess Diana’s admirers as he recounted the emotional journey of bringing his wife to his mother’s final resting place during the previous summer.
“No visit to this place was ever easy, but this one… the twenty-fifth anniversary,” Prince Harry wrote in his memoir, “Spare.” “And it was Meg’s first time. Finally, I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet Mum.”
Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles III, went on to share, “We hesitated for a moment, embracing each other, and then I took the lead. I gently placed flowers on her grave, and Meghan gave me some time alone. In my thoughts, I spoke to my mother, expressing how much I missed her and seeking her guidance and clarity.”
He continued, “Sensing that Meghan might also want a moment of her own, I went around the hedge, gazing at the pond. Upon my return, I found Meghan kneeling, her eyes closed, her palms touching the stone.”
Harry revealed that he asked her what she had prayed for, to which Meghan replied, “Clarity and guidance.”
Notably, Meghan Markle, often compared to Harry’s elegant mother for her fashion sense by some fans, is said to draw inspiration from her late mother-in-law.
