Months after making amends with the ladies after a massive falling out during the eighth season of Vanderpump Rules, which was filmed in summer 2019, Kristen is admitting that their friendships have changed and proclaiming that she’s grateful to be back on good terms with Stassi and Katie.

“It’s not talk on the phone every single day, text you my every thought type of friendship, but I don’t know if that really has to do with our breakup,” Kristen told Hollywood Life on September 30, noting that her relationships with her former co-stars are “different” in 2020.

“I just think that we all grew up in our own separate ways, so I actually really like what we have right now,” she continued.

Doute’s Relationship With Her Ex-Boyfriend Hurt Her Friendships

Last summer, amid filming on Vanderpump Rules season eight, Stassi and Katie grew frustrated with the way in which Kristen was seemingly dragging them into her drama with then-boyfriend Brian Carter. As fans saw on the show, Kristen was constantly running to her friends with complaints about Carter, all while also encouraging them to be nice to him when she brought him around.

While Stassi and Katie attempted to be supportive of Kristen and the twists and turns of her relationship, they ultimately decided to cut ties with Kristen after feeling as if she was lying to them about what was really going on between her and Carter, as well as the nature of their relationship.

Although the chances of mending their friendships appeared to be quite bleak at the season eight reunion, which was filmed virtually from their homes earlier this year, Kristen and Stassi’s firings from the Bravo reality series changed how they both felt about their falling out.

Speaking of their relationships today, Kristen said that while things aren’t the same between them, that wasn’t what any of them desired. After all, Kristen’s ongoing drama had caused tension and negativity between them.

“It’s definitely not the same, but I don’t think any of us wanted it to be the same,” she shared.

Kristen’s friendships with Stassi and Katie may not be the same as they once were but that’s not a bad thing. In fact, after all three of the women grew as people amid the pandemic, and amid the racism scandal that rocked the cast in June, their relationships have actually improved.

“I feel really comfortable calling them if I need something. I feel comfortable sending them funny text messages as I did. We hang out in group settings again. We hang out alone which is really nice. So I just think we’re slowly working back to something as close as what we had, so I just think it’ll be really different and I think that’s a really good thing,” Kristen explained.

Kristen is ‘Grateful’ to Be Back in Stassi and Katie’s Lives

“I’m really grateful,” Kristen said of her rekindled friendships.

As for what brought them together, Kristen said she immediately went to Stassi after the two of them were accused of racially charged behavior by their former cast mate, Faith Stowers, the only African American woman of Vanderpump Rules

“When everything happened with what happened with [Vanderpump Rules], I definitely leaned on Stassi immediately. It was kind of like a no brainer for me. I didn’t know if anyone else would understand how I was feeling and what I was thinking and what I was going through at that time,” Kristen shared.

As fans of the show may have heard, Faith said on Instagram in early June that she experienced racism during her time on the series. She also accused Stassi and Kristen of attempting to have her arrested for crimes she didn’t commit after she engaged in an affair with Jax Taylor when he was dating now-wife Brittany Cartwright, who is expecting his first child in April 2021.

Following the outbreak of the scandal, which Bravo quickly addressed by firing the two of them, Kristen and Stassi bonded.

“I’m really grateful that she let me back into her life with open arms even though I wasn’t sure if it was going to be temporary and fleeting or something more permanent,” she revealed. “I really didn’t know what it was going to look like but I just know when times are hard you lean on the people that you consider family.”

“Although the girls and I, as everyone knows, didn’t really have a friendship anymore at that point, it was so much bigger than the fights and so much bigger than how we all felt and it didn’t mean that those things were disappearing and we were just back to normal,” Kristen continued. “But I really needed Stassi at that point and Katie welcomed me back with open arms as well, so I’m just so grateful because that’s just what I really needed were the people that knew me best in Los Angeles.”

After reconnecting with Stassi in June, Kristen, along with the rest of the world, learned that Stassi was pregnant with her first child. Now, months later, Kristen is thrilled to be a part of her journey into motherhood.

Following Stassi’s pregnancy reveal in June, Kristen began spending more and more time with both Stassi and Katie as they celebrated the exciting news of Stassi and her fiancé, Beau Clark.

“Stassi, Kristen and Katie have all been hanging out more and celebrating Stassi being pregnant and mending the friendship between the three of them,” a source told Us Weekly in July. “Kristen and Stassi also talk a lot more often and have been there for each other and are re-learning together and working on ways to work together to share their learning and mistakes.”

According to the report, Stassi and Kristen were friends at that point in time, mainly due to the fact that they were able to walk one another through the scandal they were faced with due to the treatment of Faith.

“Stassi and Kristen are friends at this point. The two of them are going through this together and the experience has brought them closer together again,” the insider shared.

“They’ve also been friends for such a long time and neither thinks that the friendship is worth just throwing away. Kristen has been making a big effort to repair their relationship and she feels especially bad for and sympathetic toward Stassi because she is going through this while pregnant,” the source continued.

Earlier this year, during an episode of the Vanderpump Rules: After Show, Stassi opened up about her falling out with Kristen, explaining that the draining nature of Kristen and her relationship drama with Carter had become too much for her to handle.

“It was years of Katie and I dealing with this constant cycle,” Schroeder said on the aftershow after the season finale in May. “You’re taking up so much of my time and now it’s consuming a big part of my brain and my energy that I’m now taking this home with me. … Now all I can think about, Kristen, is you and Carter and this whole situation. And you’re lying to us on top of it.”

While SUR Restaurant, where Vanderpump Rules is based, reopened earlier this month, Bravo has yet to confirm the potential return of the series.
