Convicted rapper Tory Lanez sported a displeased expression in his fresh mugshot after he was processed into a California state prison to commence a 10-year sentence. The rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was booked into North Kern State Prison in Delano on Tuesday.
Lanez faced charges related to the 2020 shooting of musician Megan Thee Stallion and was found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, along with additional charges related to firearm use, manufacturing, sale, or possession. Despite maintaining his innocence, the Canadian-born artist, aged 31, was convicted by a jury in August.
He was transferred from LA County Jail to the state prison located 145 miles away, where he had his new mugshot taken. The photo portrays Lanez with unkempt hair, and his distinctive nose ring remains visible.
