RHOBH Erika Jayne Disembarks from Hawaiin Plane and Boards the Struggle Bus as Server Delivers $50M Lawsuit

When you travel to Hawaii for vacation, you're hoping to leave your cares behind.

Unfortunately, when Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Erika Jayne disembarked from Hawaii in Los Angeles International Airport, even her tracksuit couldn't get her out of the way of trouble fast enough.

The reality star was served with papers for a $50M racketeering lawsuit. Here's how it went down.

Welcome Home – Here’s Your Lawsuit

Imagine getting off the plane after a peaceful interlude in paradise.

You're feeling good and looking fine, ready to get home and unwind.

A woman walks up to you and hands you a thick stack of paper, telling the reality star, "I just wanted to give you these documents … this is a summons and complaint to serve you," according to a video clip posted by Page Six.

Stone-faced, Jayne takes the documents without looking at them, quickening her pace.

As it turns out, the hefty stack of papers is a lawsuit for racketeering, to the tune of $50M.

The Past is Catching Up to Erika

Page Six explains, "The lawsuit, filed by Edelson PC, accuses Jayne of nine charges including racketeering, conspiracy to commit racketeering, unlawful business practice and deceit, among others, in relation to the ongoing legal drama involving estranged ex-husband Tom Girardi."

According to the lawsuit, "Tom and Erika routinely misappropriated client settlement money to project an image of wealth and to prop up a lifestyle made for reality TV."

The documents also allege that Jayne was aware of Girardi's ill-doings, and flaunted her lavish lifestyle as a way of selling Girardi Keese to new clients, perpetuating her now ex-husband's wrongdoings.

Girardi is currently in a skilled nursing facility after suffering a series of health issues that appeared to be exacerbated by his public legal woes.

This is not the first time Edelson PC has brought the former couple to court, but this lawsuit focuses on prosecuting the claims of widows and orphans harmed by Girardi Keese and what allegedly was the couple's attempt to defraud and extort money from victims of a 2018 airplane crash that killed 189.

Boeing wired settlement cash to clients represented by Girardi Keese in 2020 – but those who survived the crash victims say they never received their due.

DailyMail explains, "In the legal docs, Girardi and Jayne are accused of misappropriating 'client settlement money to project an image of wealth and to prop up a lifestyle made for reality TV.'

Edelson PC said that the EJ Global company Jayne ran had been 'created for the purpose of funneling money from Girardi Keese to benefit' her.

Jayne was knowledgeable of Girardi’s embezzlement 'scheme' toward settlement funds earmarked for victims of the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 crash, in which all 189 people onboard died, Edelson PC said in the suit.

In court docs, Edelson PC said Jayne was a 'frontwoman' for Girardi Keese, 'selling to the world' the notion that it 'was successful.'"

Girardi and Jayne are legally separated at this time, because according to Jayne she would have to pay alimony to her ex if they were to divorce.

While filming RHOBH, Jayne maintained that she is not who is being portrayed in the legal battles – and that she was unaware of her husband's illegal activities.

During the season 11 reunion episode of the show, Jayne said of her separated spouse, "This is not who I am and I hope this is not who he is. I hope that he has not done what is alleged here."
