Lisa Rinna called out Denise Richards during the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion on September 2 for “liking” a Tweet that called for her to be fired.
After Erika Jayne addressed the backlash she received over a comment she made during the season about teenagers having sex, explaining that she was not directing the comment at Denise’s kids, Lisa targeted Denise.
“Have you seen how the fans have come at us because of it? I hope you have,” Lisa said on the show, giving a nod to the way in which Denise put a spotlight on the racy banter the ladies of the show engaged in during season 10.
“Of course! She likes it,” Teddi Mellencamp replied.
“Of course she did. She liked it. She ‘liked’ a couple of comments,” Erika agreed.
Throughout the first few episodes of the show, Denise, who made a number of racy comments about her sex life with husband Aaron Phypers, as well as his “happy ending,” during season nine, acted offended by the adult chatter of her cast mates.
“Why would I like this?” Denise asked as the scene continued.
Denise Richards Was Accused of Mom-Shaming the ‘RHOBH’ Cast
After hosting a cast BBQ dinner at her home in Malibu, California during an early episode of RHOBH season 10, Denise requested Erika meet her for coffee, where she informed her that she was concerned about the way in which she and the other women had spoken about threesomes.
Because Denise had made so many racy comments in the past, including statements about the size of her husband’s manhood, many of her cast mates were confused by her suddenly prude demeanor and others were enraged by the posts she was “liking” from fans.
“The things that you ‘liked’ about Erika actually made me feel sick to my stomach,” Teddi admitted.
“You ‘liked’ some stuff on Twitter,” Erika interjected. “Denise, you liked a comment that said Lisa Rinna should use her job.”
“No I f*cking did not,” Denise said.
“Yeah, you did. Yeah you did,” Lisa fired back.
At that point, Bravo aired a screenshot of the tweet that was, in fact, “liked,” by Denise.
Denise Richards’ ‘Liked’ Tweet Accused Lisa Rinna of Racism
It read, “Absolutely fire [Lisa Rinna]. [She’s] not only a bully but she ‘claims’ she’s not a racist. There’s proof in photos and this says otherwise. Go pat your p*ss somewhere else and take Erika Jayne with you.”
It also asked, “Has [Erika] apologized to Sami and Lola yet??? Or to [Denise]?”
Right away, Denise’s memory came back to her.
“That… I did not know it was that. It was actually a comment to you, Erika… about the comment you made about my daughter,” Denise said as she attempted to defend the “like.”
“That’s right! Denise, you are not naive in this setup,” Erika proclaimed after seeing that Denise had finally copped to “liking” the post.
“It was actually by accident, and that’s the truth,” Denise responded. “I only saw the comment about Erika. I did not know there was a picture underneath it.”
“She said I should lose my job and that I’m a racist,” Lisa fired back.
Still, Denise said it was “not true” and attempted to defend herself further by noting that the tweet she liked was in reference to Erika and the statement she made about teenagers having sex.
Denise Richards’ Claims of Innocence Fell Flat With Her Co-Stars
“Denise, you ‘liked’ the tweet and in ‘liking’ the tweet, it says everything,” Lisa stated.
According to Erika, the statements she made about teenagers having sex were in no way directed at Denise’s kids. Instead, she was simply arguing that Denise was being naive if she truly felt that her teenagers hadn’t yet heard about sex and threesomes. She also clarified that she was speaking about teenagers in general when she made the comments.
“Teenagers have sex, not your daughters. Teenagers in general, they have sex. That is true,” Erika explained.
Then, when the topic of Denise’s “liked” tweet was brought up again, Lisa accused Denise of being very intentional with her click.
“And again, you did it in a public forum,” she told her. “You ‘liked’ a tweet like that that was so vile and so nasty you knew exactly what you were doing. Don’t you f*ck around and lie to me about that!”
“I’m not lying to you,” Denise insisted.
Teddi Mellencamp Believes Denise Richards Tried to Make the ‘RHOBH’ Cast Look Bad
During another segment of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Denise was accused of attempting to make her cast mates look like “a**holes” by Teddi. As Teddi explained, any many agreed, Denise acted as if she was so offended by the way the cast spoke around her kids in an effort to downplay the racy persona she gave herself due to her own behavior throughout season nine.
In response to Teddi’s claims, Erika pointed out that at the BBQ in question, it was actually Denise who “set the tone” with her own X-rated comments.
“You opened with, ‘He still has a big penis.’ That was, like, the first thing out of your mouth at your own barbeque with your own children sitting right there,” Erika said. “It comes out of your mouth first. You set the tone.”
In August, weeks after the women filmed the virtual reunion taping from their homes, an insider revealed that it was Lisa who targeted Denise the most.
“Rinna came at Denise Richards the most,” a source told Us Weekly. “Erika [Jayne] also had a go at Denise, and [Garcelle Beauvais] also had time in the hot seat.”
According to the report, Denise “held her ground” at the taping and “maintained that there was absolutely no affair” with Brandi Glanville.
During an episode of RHOBH weeks ago, Brandi told her cast mates that she and Denise hooked up after Denise informed her that she and Aaron supposedly had an open marriage. A short time later, Denise denied the report and accused Brandi of telling her that she had actually slept with another woman from the show.
Following the reunion taping, Lisa told her fans on Instagram that it was “bullsh*t.”
“I’ve never said that in 6 years. I guess cease and desists work,” she added of the legal letter Denise sent to Brandi after she went public with their supposed affair.
Andy Cohen Promises ‘RHOBH’ Viewers Will Hear From Brandi Glanville
In response to Lisa’s comment about the taping, Andy Cohen reacted on his radio show.
“[Lisa] said it was ‘bulls-t.’ She was really upset that Brandi was not there. And I was not,” Andy said. “We were going back and forth about whether she should come, [we] spoke to Brandi about it. And I think when you see the finale, you will see, I don’t know. … But the bottom line is, we will all hear from Brandi.”
Around the same time, Garcelle told Us Weekly that Lisa was “without question” too hard on Denise at the taping.
“I felt like [Denise] was being hit hard all the time and I felt like it was hard, time after time, after time,” Garcelle said. “At some point, you have to believe someone’s truth or just go, ‘OK’ and move on, but it wasn’t that way. I just felt like they were too harsh on her.”
The three-part Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion special continues airing next Wednesday, September 9, at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
