Alternative rock has always been one of our favorite genres of music. It can offer listeners loud, rock-out jams, as well as some slower, more introspective numbers. Since we’re avid fans of the genre, we were excited to listen to Losing Breath by Rocket. The song is upbeat and chock-full of guitar strides that take you right back to that time in your life when you felt your most rebellious (think middle school/early-teenage years).
Taking the old and mixing it with a bit of a new-age twist, Rocket has you jamming throughout. You can tell there is a great deal of synergy with the band. It is as if you are listening to Hayley Williams, from Paramore, as even from a first listen to the track we were left with a long-lasting impression that assured us we would want to hear more from this band.
Losing Breath is a song for the rock of all ages. Collaborating with the Grammy Award winning producer Mark Needham (who has worked with major talent including Imagine Dragons and The Killers), Losing Breath is the voice of the times the nation is going through. Specifically, the punk-rock ideology and unrest and dealings with the unfortunate death of George Floyd, and the current Covid-19 Pandemic aid us in hearing this song ever more clearly.
If you thought this was the last collaboration with producer Mark Needham, you are in for a surprise. There are several unreleased singles and tracks that have been recently recorded and will be forthcoming. Rocket has certainly been keeping quite busy during quarantine, making tons of music that they are ready to unleash to the world- and we are so excited for this.
Expect Rocket to knock your socks off and continue to put you in a mood to groove and let loose. Listening to their music will give you a modern take on the era of The Offspring, Paramore and No Doubt when music was more than just a dance on social media. Here at CELEB, we have missed music like this, and we are sure you have as well.
Make sure you give Losing Breath a listen below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
