Room Number: The Langham Chicago Provides Classic Elegance with a View

Spring has sprung and in Chicago, that means incredible weather. With flowers blooming and the warm air creeping in more often than not – minus the occasional cold front – it's the perfect time of year to explore Chi-Town's cultural richness and native beauty. While staying in Chicago, The Langham is one of the finest hotels in the city and provides the kind of luxury you seek for your urban oasis – perched high above downtown with a view none can rival. Here's a peek inside The Langham and why it should be on your next Chicago bucket list.

The Infinity Suite – Infinite Luxury

One of our favorite rooms in the hotel is the Infinity Suite. The suite provides two bedrooms, two marble bathrooms and a few other top-tier amenities you won't want to miss:

  • A custom-painted grand piano
  • A dining space that can hold up to 10 guests
  • Corner-suite views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River
  • Accommodations overnight for four guests
  • 2,700 square feet of elegance
  • A fully-stocked private bar
  • Chuan Spa bath amenities

The decor is a playful blend of modern and mid-century modern, with flowing lines, neutral whites and pops of color to keep it interesting. Every surface is the luxury upgrade, with Blissful Beds and white statuario marble in the bathrooms. A separate living area with a fireplace, powder rooms, a private butler's pantry and an expansive foyer all add to the upscale "pamper yourself" feel of the Infinity Suite.

The Hotel with a View

With 268 guest rooms and 48 suites to choose from, the hotel offers a little bit of everything. Throughout most of the rooms, the decor is a soothing blend of white, gray, and dark wood tones to set a relaxing background for the breathtaking views.

Guests hoping to unwind after a long day in the city can enjoy the award-winning Chuen Spa amenities, with treatments ranging from the traditional to the creative.

Dining options for guests on the property include Trevelle and Pavilion. Trevelle pulls from the flavors that make American cuisine great, with American ranch, farm and orchard products provided fresh to your table. At the Pavilion, enjoy an afternoon tea setting with sweet bites while you feel a little bit like you stepped into the '60's, with the elegance and formal (but not stuffy) Pavilion lounge.

And if you're bringing your kids along, there's an amenity for that too: the Kid's Suite. The website describes it; "The Kid’s Suite is a generously sized play space, designed for families to enjoy a variety of activities. Timeless board games such as Monopoly, Trouble and Candyland will captivate children of all ages, while Lincoln Logs, a miniature electric guitar and an oversized white board will ignite the imagination of the young and the young at heart."

For now, COVID has shuttered the Kid's Suite – but it will hopefully reopen soon, making it the best place to bring a family to the heart of Chicago.

Chicago – a Hub of Culture

Chicago may not be the first city that comes to mind when you think of a relaxing getaway, but maybe it should. With spas, museums, art galleries and art installations abounding, it's the perfect place to enrich your mind while pampering your body. CELEB recently took a closer look at The Peninsula Hotel in downtown Chicago, a classic blend of far-Eastern graciousness and Western hospitality.

Whether it's The Peninsula or The Langham you make home base, the city is full of adventure and wonder. "Once you’re all checked in and ready to explore, the variety in Chicago is endless. Whether you’re there to visit the Museum of Science and History, Lincoln Park Zoo, Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago, Millenium Park and the famous Cloud Gate or just sight-see and discover what strikes your fancy, the city is a rich cultural hub with dining and delight at its heart.

And The Peninsula is perfectly placed for those with shopping on their mind to take advantage, as the hotel concierge team points out; 'Also referred to as the Magnificent Mile, Michigan Avenue’s shopping district is a one mile area of tree-lined streets, from the Chicago River North to Oak Street. The Magnificent Mile covers 3.1 million square feet of retail, two unique museums and the historic Chicago Water Tower.'

Known as 'The Windy City,' Chicago has a history of being a place where cuisine is born, dreams are conceived of, and the weather can be a bit extreme."

However, when the timing is right – there are few finer places in Illinois to take a waterside stroll or gaze at some indoor or outdoor art. When staying at The Langham, you're close to everything – and wrapped in luxury.
