Santa Monica Pier will honor the enduring legacy of Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant with a special illuminated display on the pier’s iconic Ferris wheel on August 24, also recognized as Kobe Bryant Day.
The Ferris wheel will radiate with two luminous exhibits, featuring the messages “LA + ❤️ + 24” and “LA + ❤️ + 8,” alongside striking patterns of purple and gold, as detailed in a press release.

Santa Monica Pier will honor the memory of Kobe Bryant by illuminating its Ferris wheel on August 24, known as Kobe Bryant Day. The display will showcase two light presentations: “LA + ❤️ + 24” and “LA + ❤️ + 8,” complemented by captivating purple and gold patterns. Visitors can view this touching tribute from 7:30 p.m. until midnight on the designated day.
