For those who missed it, rumors started to spread that something was going on between the two stars after the Captain America actor followed the singer on Instagram, just hours after they were allegedly spotted at the same restaurant. They Weren’t Actually Spotted Together

When a fan account on Twitter posted some snaps that showed Gomez and Evans leaving the same restaurant separately, and claimed that they were taken on the same date, people quickly started to assume that they were there together. But according to E! News, the pictures are actually from different dates! It turns out, the photo of Gomez was actually taken in 2017, and the one of Evans was from 2013. So sneaky!

So it looks like the only concrete information we have about their alleged romance is that he followed her on Instagram, which isn’t saying much. It looks like this relationship was all just a rumor in the end — sorry guys! However, Gomez did refer to Evans as her celebrity crush back in 2015.

“I kind of have a crush on Chris Evans,” she said during an appearance on  Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “Isn’t he cute? He’s very cute.”

The “Bad Liar” songstress was briefly linked to Basketball star Jimmy Butler in December 2020, but it seems to have fizzled out now. Miami Herald reported at the time that Gomez and the Miami Heat player were spotted grabbing an intimate dinner. A source told E! News, however, that the pair hung out “a few times,” but that Gomez was still keeping her options open.”

“[She] has been on a few dates with Jimmy and thinks he’s a great guy. They hung out a few times while Selena was in New York City. Jimmy asked her to go to dinner and they had a great time,” the insider explained. “It’s very casual and she’s open to seeing where things go, but isn’t settling down just yet.”

They added that the brunette beauty “is currently single but has recently been more open to dating.”

While filming her new Hulu series Only Murders in the Building earlier this year, some fans started to speculate that she and her costar Aaron Dominguez were dating after pics of them getting cozy emerged. But it turns out, they were only filming an intimate scene, and nothing was going on between them.

“We had just started working together. I honestly thought, ‘No wonder guys don’t want to date me!’” she told Los Angeles Timesabout the rumors. “I think people only care because I’m young, and the older I get, the less they’ll care. For now, it’s a part of the job that I don’t really like. I’m actually grateful that I’m not involved with anyone right now.”

Gomez and Justin Bieber first met in 2009, after Bieber’s manager reached out to Gomez and set them up. But it wasn’t until one year later, when they were spotted cuddling up at an iHop, that rumors started to swirl that they were dating. At the time, however, the musician quickly shut down the speculation, telling MTV, “Who doesn’t like pancakes? We were both performing in the same place so we went and had pancakes together. That’s all it is. All innocent. I love Justin. When he first started to come over from Canada his manager contacted me and he just said that he would like to meet me and he was just such a good kid… I feel like a big sister now, ’cause I want to protect him.”

It’s unclear when they officially became more than friends, but in January 2011, fans got the confirmation that they were waiting for. Yep, the former Disney actress and the pop star were photographed kissing on vacation in St. Lucia together, and there was no denying that they were a couple. And one month later, they made their relationship red carpet official, when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party side by side.

The two stars were practically inseparable after that, and they seemed like total couple goals! That is, until November 2012, when news hit the web that they had split.

But the relationship didn’t end there. Fans quickly went into a frenzy in April 2013 when Bieber posted a snap of him and Gomez to his Instagram account. And a few days later, they were spotted kissing in Norway, so it appeared that they were going strong again.

Throughout the rest of 2013 and a lot of 2014, they were caught hanging out all the time, and get this — they even shared numerous pics together. But everyone was left pretty confused about their relationship status when Bieber claimed in numerous interviews that he was single, despite the fact that him and Gomez were spending a lot of time together. Well, whatever was going on between them came to an end in December 2014, when the 27-year-old started dating his future-wife, Hailey Baldwin. Gomez appeared to move on as well, since she entered into a relationship with Zedd. But then, in 2017, they reunited again.

“Justin is still very happy. They have had quiet date nights at home and outings to local, low-key spots. They are still catching up and just enjoy hanging out,” a source explained to People Magazine at the time. “They have learned from past mistakes and are not putting any pressure on each other. Things are much different and more mature.”

In the weeks that followed, they were photographed riding bikes together, going out to dinner and they even went to Jamaica together! Then, in March 2018, Gomez posted a tribute for her beau in honor of his birthday, writing, “March 1, 1994, someone I know that happens to be super cool was born. Boom.”

But one month later, there was trouble in paradise, when E! News reported that they had split once again. A few months later, Bieber started dating Baldwin again, seemingly ending #Jelena once and for all.
