Is there new music on the way from Selena Gomez?! That seems to be the question on everyone’s minds after the singer allegedly teased her next single on TikTok. Yep, while showing off her new hairstyle (she recently cut off her long locks and is now rocking a short bob!), Gomez danced to what appears to be an unreleased track of hers.
“I feel pretty / Oh so pretty / Just might be the prettiest one in the city / I feel pretty and I’m witty,” the lyrics read.

What Else Do We Know About Selena Gomez’s Upcoming Album?
Back in August 2021, Gomez first confirmed that she was working on her next album.
“I’m starting to work on a new album right now so I’m really excited and have so much to say,” she said. “I’m very lucky … because I love doing what I do and I wouldn’t be able to do it if it weren’t for amazing people … and those who are fans. So I’m very happy to be a part of all of the things I can do.”

Since then she’s stayed pretty tight-lipped about it, but we hope she shares some more details soon!
Is Selena Gomez Quitting Music?
As fans know, Gomez released a Spanish album, called Revelación, earlier this year, and it was full of bops. But right before it came out, she admitted to Vogue that she was considering quitting music
“It’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously,” she revealed. “I’ve had moments where I’ve been like, ‘What’s the point? Why do I keep doing this?’ ‘Lose You to Love Me,’ I felt was the best song I’ve ever released, and for some people it still wasn’t enough. I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music.”
She also told the outlet that she wants to spend more time producing and to “give herself a real shot at acting,” so expect to see her in some more roles soon.
“I haven’t even touched the surface of what I want to do,” she continued. “The parts that I want are the ones I need help with. I can’t wait for the moment when a director can see that I’m capable of doing something that no one’s ever seen.”
Throughout the interview, the 28-year-old also reflected on her rise to fame, and she said she was sick of being referred to as a Disney girl.
“That was my job in a way — to be perfect,” she said of her time on Wizards of Waverly Place. “You’re considered a figure kids look up to, and they take that seriously there. I think I spent so many years just trying to say the right thing to people for the sake of keeping myself sane. I’m just such a people-pleaser. I still live with this haunting feeling that people still view me as this Disney girl.”

Fans were pretty excited in May 2021 when news hit the web that the former Disney star was starring in a brand new movie called Spiral, and boy, does her role sound like it’s going to be intense. It turns out, Gomez is going to play an influencer who is addicted to the internet in the upcoming psychological thriller, and we cannot wait to see what goes down!
According to Deadline, her character’s “addiction to social media is causing her body to literally fall apart.” Woah, sounds intense! And wait until you find out who is producing the flick. Drum roll please… It’s the one and only Drake! Plus, Petra Collins — who previously worked with Gomez on her “Fetish” music video — is set to direct it. Future the Prince (who was also behind Euphoria with Drake), Matthew Budman and Sumaiya Kaveh will also serve as executive producers. As for the script, that was created by Collins and Melissa Broder (who is an acclaimed author, essayist and poet). It’s still unclear who else is going to star in the movie, but with a team like that we know it is going to be epic.
It turns out, this isn’t the only movie that the “Rare” songstress is working on! Back in November 2020, news hit the web that she had been cast in another brand new flick, called In the Shadow of the Mountain, and everyone was pretty excited about it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, In the Shadow of the Mountain is going tell the story of Silvia Vásquez-Lavado. For those who don’t know, the mountaineer was the first Peruvian woman to summit Mount Everest and the first openly gay woman to complete the Seven Summits — a challenge to climb the highest mountain on each continent. She was also a victim of childhood assault and neglect, and has helped organize many treks to Mt. Everest’s base camp for other women who have endured abuse. Gomez is set to play Vásquez-Lavado in the upcoming flick, and it’s reportedly going to come out in winter 2022. Oh, and did we mention that the pop star is also set to return as Mavis in the upcoming fourth addition to the Hotel Transylvania series?! Woo-hoo!
