‘Selling Sunset’ Star Jason Oppenheim Spills Tea on Heartbreaking Split with Marie Lou Nurk
After just 10 months together, “Selling Sunset” star Jason Oppenheim has called it quits with his girlfriend, Marie Lou Nurk.

After just 10 months together, “Selling Sunset” star Jason Oppenheim has called it quits with his girlfriend, Marie Lou Nurk.
The adorable couple was first publicly linked back in the summer of 2022, getting cozy in Mykonos, Greece.
It wasn’t long before they confirmed that they were in fact dating, and they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the premiere of the movie “Day Shift.”
It’s sad to see them call it quits, but the bigger question remains of: why?
After all, things seemed to be going well between the pair.
Nurk recently moved back to Paris, France, after she spent some time living with Oppenheim in Los Angeles. But in a recent Q&A, there was no sign of trouble on the horizon.
Nurk was asked about their relationship during the Instagram Q&A, and she responded, “The truth is, we both knew from the beginning that I would have to move back because of my job, friends, and family being here.”

She continued, “Long distance relationships can be tough, but we’re both committed to making it work. We make sure to communicate regularly and make time for each other despite the distance.” Nurk told followers that the romance between the two was “worth the effort.”
And there were other signs that things were going well, too. Earlier this year, Oppenheim and Nurk moved into an $18 million dollar condo together. At the time, Oppenheim said of the formal cohabitation, “We’re [going to be] living here, I think, for many years.”
But “many years” turned out to be not the case, and they’ve now called it quits.
Oppenheim explained what happened in a heartfelt Instagram story.
The background image showed Oppenheim and Nurk standing in front of a sunset, facing away from the camera.
Oppenheim wrote, “While we still love and care about each other very much, the distance between has proven to be too great a challenge to overcome.”
The reality star added, “We remain close friends and continue to talk often and support each other, and we want the very best for one another. We thank everyone for their support throughout our relationship.”
Nurk has not yet commented on the split publicly.
Before dating Nurk, Oppenheim publicly dated “Selling Sunset” co-star Chrishell Stause.
However, the reality show co-stars ended up breaking up after just seven months.
The good news, though, is that the pair have remained close friends. Such good friends that Oppenheim threw a surprise engagement party for Stause and her new partner, G Flip.
But this wouldn’t be the first time (or even the thousandth) that celebs have called it quits due to demanding schedules and distances with their partners.
Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, who broke up last year, seemed to suggest that their split was also due to the challenges of a busy work schedule and physical distance as they both pursued their careers.
One reason celebrities find it so hard to land a lifelong relationship is certainly due to the demands of travel and the constant “on” of being famous.
And it seems that the busy life of a celeb has struck again.
