In Memphis, Tennessee, a shooting occurred at a concert headlined by rapper Lil Baby on Thursday night, resulting in one person being critically wounded, as reported by local media and law enforcement.
The Memphis Police Department issued a statement on social media, indicating that they had received a report of a shooting at 191 Beale Street, which is the location of the FedEx Forum. The incident took place at 10:23 p.m., and the victim, a male, was transported to Regional One Health Medical Center in critical condition. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported, and the identity of the shooter remains unknown.
During the concert, Lil Baby was hurried off the stage when gunshots rang out inside the venue, according to WREG-TV. Attendees were startled by the sudden noise, with one concertgoer, Clarissa Johnson, sharing her experience, stating, “I heard a pop… I’m not sure what happened but I had a suite, so I told all my crew, ‘get down.’ So we evacuated. Once we evacuated, did a head count. I’m still not sure what happened.”
As of now, a representative for the rapper has not responded to requests for further information from The Associated Press.
