In a recent interview with Variety, Sydney Sweeney addressed the ongoing rumors about her alleged romance with fellow actor Glen Powell. The 25-year-old White Lotus actress candidly shared her thoughts on the matter, revealing that while she occasionally feels affected by the speculation surrounding her family and love life, she and 34-year-old Glen remain close friends.
Sydney admitted that the constant rumors and speculation can sometimes take a toll on her. “Sometimes I feel beat up by it,” she expressed to the outlet. “It’s hard to sit back and watch, and not be able to stand up for yourself.”
However, Sydney clarified that being entangled in romance rumors is par for the course, especially when involved in a romantic comedy project like Anyone But You. “That’s what people want! Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together,” she stated. “We respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker. We’re excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, ‘That’s really funny.’”
While the film “Anyone But You” isn’t set to release until December, Sydney and Glen openly discussed their positive experience filming in Australia in a May interview with Entertainment Tonight. Sydney shared her enjoyment of the filming process, saying, “It was such a blast! Australia was such a beautiful place to film, and the cast and crew were so much fun. I’ve never laughed so much on a set before. I was living my best life. I loved it.”
Glen Powell echoed this sentiment, highlighting Sydney’s role in ensuring a fun environment on set. “Sydney was like our social chair. We had an activity every weekend that everyone went out and did,” Glen told ET in April.
Despite the ongoing speculation about a possible romantic relationship with Glen, Sydney has been engaged to restaurateur Jonathan Davino since 2022. The couple is also collaborating on a project together. While discussing her partnership with Davino in the interview, Sydney kept it succinct, saying, “I like working with smart individuals.”
