Teen Mom's Briana DeJesus and Kailyn Lowry have been dropping some truth bombs under oath in court lately. As the pair battles it out in the legal arena, fans are getting some insight into things they have previously held close to the chest – that they can no longer lie about or keep quiet. DeJesus admitted under oath to getting awfully cozy with Lowry's ex Chris Lopez – but there were some things she did not admit to. Here's what DeJesus said – and what she very specifically did not say.
Close – But How Close?
If there's one thing a reality star dreads more than an on-air feud, it's having to go to court. Because in court, all the things you tried to keep close to the chest and private get put under the microscope, and you can't lie under oath. So if they manage to keep any part of their life private – court can upend that and make it awkward, revealing, and uncomfortable.
Such seems to be the case with DeJesus and Lowry (we'll get to her big secret in a minute). As DeJesus defends herself against a defamation lawsuit and tries to hit back at Lowry by defending what she said as free speech, the pair is being scrutinized and poked and prodded by the court system.
Under oath, DeJesus has admitted to being quite close with Lowry's ex, Lopez. Drama erupted between the two castmates and enemies when it was revealed that DeJesus was traveling to meet up with Lopez and that she would be appearing on his podcast.
Lowry felt blindsided – and probably very uncomfortable – by the thought of her enemy and her contentious ex chatting it up about her.
Lowry also blasted several text messages online showing that DeJesus had intended – on the same trip, busy woman – to meet up with another of Lowry's exes, and father of one of her children, Javi Marroquin. Javi and DeJesus also dated at one point, so there's some understandable history there, but Marroquin turned her down, choosing to stay loyal to the mother of his child.
DeJesus denied that anything untoward happened with her and Lopez, and that her trip to see him wasn't a part of why her engagement with Javi Gonzalez ended. But now, people are starting to wonder if that's the truth or not.
The Sun reports, "In Briana’s court deposition taken in March, she revealed details of her romance with Chris, who Kail has dated on-and-off for years.
The Sun can exclusively reveal from the deposition that Briana hung out with Chris on three separate occasions.
She said in the deposition of the first time they got together: 'I met Mr. Lopez – I want to say, April. I don’t remember the year. But I went to – he came down to Miami, I’m in Florida… so… He came down to celebrate a cousin’s birthday.'
'He asked if we can hang out.'
When asked how often they would talk, Briana responded: 'I wouldn’t say often, sometimes… Maybe every other day.'
She then went into the second time she met Chris in the fall of 2021 in Philadelphia.
Briana said: 'He invited me to be on his podcast. It is called P.T.S.D. The actual name is Pressure Talk with Single Dads, and his podcast is just about his stories, his struggles being a single dad. And he does it with his cousin.'”
While fans knew that DeJesus and Lopez had struck up a rapport, the frequency of their talking and how close they had gotten is all news – or at least, it's the first time it's been confirmed. In the face of this information, Lowry's concern and feelings of betrayal seem much more understandable.
However, while DeJesus did admit to getting quite friend with Lopez – according to her, that's where it ended.
Kail’s Own Secrets
Of course, Lowry was keeping her own secrets that court dragged out into the public consciousness. Namely, the secret boyfriend fans have been speculating about for years.
The man she was dating was Malik Montgomery, and although he had been photographed leaving her house, no one knew who he was – or that they were serious.
The Sun reports that Lowry admitted to the relationship in court last August, but only recently revealed his name, explaining at the time, "'I have had several relationships on the show fail and, also, just trolls becoming involved in my relationship had led me to not want to have any type of public relationship.'
Back in August, Kail confirmed she was in a relationship in court papers, but she chose not to disclose his identity at the time.
She wrote in the legal documents: “I have been in the public eye since I was a teenager. I am now nearing 30. While I have allowed filming in my home for years, I recently requested that the Series not film about someone I have been dating.
'It is my understanding that this resulted in me not being included in the June 8, 2021 episode of the Series. It has nothing to do with my arrest that was expunged or the allegations that were made against me that resulted in that arrest.'”
Since then, it would seem things have ended. On March 10, Lowry made a supportive comment on his social media. 3 days later, however, Montgomery revealed that he was single.
Under oath, she admitted to his identity and explained the nature of their relationship – shattering a secret that has kept the Teen Mom fan world buzzing.
Now, both women are having their secrets displayed for the world to see. While it's nothing new for either of them, these are secrets they kept even from the world of reality tv – a remarkable feat given how closely they live under the microscope.
