Undeniably, one of MTV’s most popular series is Teen Mom. Both the Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 iterations bring in decent ratings for the network and the stars of the shows have a huge following.
With coronavirus, the world has completely been put on pause. New television shows have been delayed and filming on a lot of reality television shows has also been paused.
While it’s no surprise that coronavirus could cause delays for Teen Mom, one would expect them to still have full seasons once coronavirus concerns calm down. However, we have exclusively learned that this is not the case.
A production insider exclusively dished to us that, “Teen Mom 2 was taping its new season when the coronavirus pandemic began to explode.”
“Understandably,” they continued sharing, “production was paused on the show.”
So now that some states have started to reopen, could Teen Mom 2 resume production?
Unfortunately, for fans, it sounds like they’re bound for some disappointment.
“Initially,” our source shared, “the season was set for 18 episodes. However, due to coronavirus, they have been cut back to 12 episodes.”
“Also,” they added, “the women are currently filming themselves for episode 12 for a coronavirus episode/an episode seeing how they’re doing in quarantine.”
While this is sad news for fans, hopefully once this pandemic passes, the next season of Teen Mom 2 will be a full one.
