Once upon a time, Teen Mom’s Leah Messer and Kailyn Lowry were best buds. However, that seems to be over now as the pair have traded vague barbs at one another on social media. Messer clapped back this week with an angry TikTok after Lowry apparently unfollowed her on Instagram, leaving fans bereft and wondering if the pair will be able to heal their friendship. Here’s a look at what happened and why Messer felt she needed to say something.
Hold Up
Lowry went on an unfollowing frenzy a few days ago. The Teen Mom star narrowed her list of people she follows on social media down to just around a dozen, and apparently cut out former BFF Messer. Fans have speculated that Lowry may have been fired from the show after some off-camera drama and a refusal to film the most recently aired episode, but so far it’s all speculation.
What’s not speculation, however, is how Messer felt about the clapback and Lowry’s assertion that she can no longer trust anyone. The Sun reports, “Leah, 29, made her feelings known by sharing a video of her rapping the words ‘hold up b—h’ in a telling post.
The clip showed the mom of three lip singing to the song “Do We Have a Problem?” by Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby.
She donned black leggings, a black long sleeved top, and a red Nike vest while recording the clip in her living room.
She wore her long brunette hair straight down as she primarily kept her hands in her pockets.”
It’s easy to see why she would be offended, if Lowry is just swinging at everyone. Lowry is going through a hard time right now and her mistrust is understandable, but before we get into that we have to take a look at what’s going right for Messer.
Leah in Love
Messer seems to be doing well recently, sharing good news that her daughter’s Muscular Dystrophy symptoms seem to be headed in the right direction and playing TikTok games with friends. In addition, she’s found “the one” who checks all the boxes, a man named Jaylan Mobley. CELEB took a look at this budding romance last week when it became obvious that the pair was taking it to the next level; “The couple met at a Wiz Khalifa concert in 2021 and have been in each other’s lives ever since. Mobley steadily proved to Messer that he could truly be the one for her, one reason being his ‘natural’ connection with her kids. Messer shared, ‘I dated a few guys for a minute until I wanted to be exclusive, until I knew this is it, this feels right to me and we got something here. It kind of just evolved from there.’
However, this time around Messer is rushing into anything. She has no plan of changing what they have now. Mobley wants to get married and Messer says she’s ‘open to it,’ but for now they are taking it slow. ‘I just want to love him and get to know him even more before we add anymore kids to the picture.’”
Kail Dealing with a Lawsuit
Sadly though, former (?) friend Lowry is dealing with some less positive milestones in her life. Recently she felt betrayed when ex-boyfriend Chris Lopez teamed up with her enemy Briana DeJesus for a podcast – and the two may have gotten a little cozy while doing so. Eagle-eyed fans spotted the fact that DeJesus now has one of Lopez’s t-shirts which seems totally innocent and not at all suspicious, right?
Once she found out that the pair had teamed up to badmouth her and that Lopez was going to be filming with Teen Mom, Lowry opted out of filming the latest episode. That led fans to think that she may be quitting or fired from the show soon – which would be the unpleasant cherry on top of a sundae of drama Lowry has been forced to reckon with lately.
Currently, she’s embroiled in a lawsuit against DeJesus for defamation. In return, DeJesus has filed a motion for an order of protection against Lowry preventing her from digging into DeJesus’s love life. Which of course means that even if she did get a little too cozy with Lopez to get the goods on Lowry – Lowry can’t pry.
It’s a nasty back-and-forth between the pair that has no end in sight, but court days are coming soon.
