Teresa Giudice is used to her love life being front and center of headlines. During her tumultuous marriage with Joe Giudice and very public divorce, they couldn’t help but make headlines. They were married for bad and worse, including respective prison sentences, although since divorcing they’ve found a way to treat each other with respect. After the divorce was finalized, many wondered what was next for Teresa – and it turns out, love was next. The divorce wrapped up in 2020 and the former couple found a way to peacefully coparent their kids.
That same year, Teresa began dating one Luis Ruelas, and love blossomed quickly. Last year, Teresa Giudice and her fiancé decided to combine families and move in together. From there, the rest was history – or at least, will be once the wedding is over.
Teresa Giudice Chats with Andy – Is Melissa Invited or Not?
So now that they’ve moved in together and promise to spend their lives together, all they have left to do is hold the big celebration and make it official. Teresa sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and talked about some of her big plans.
For once, there’s going to be eight – not 6 or 7, 8! – bridesmaids. But sister-in-law Melissa Gorga won’t be one of them. Celebuzz writes, “Andy asked if that would be news to her sister-in-law, to which Teresa replied, ‘I guess so, I mean, hello! We’re on national TV.’
Teresa then invited Andy to her summer wedding and said she would hope he’d bring Sarah Jessica Parker.
‘We’ll talk about it. There’s a decent chance I won’t be there with Sarah Jessica if I get invited,’ he told the RHONJ star.”
Despite speculation that Gorga may be unpleasantly surprised to discover she’s out of the wedding party, Gorga told US Weekly long ago that she didn’t expect to be included. Although Gorga and her husband were initially fans of Giudice’s intended, some on-camera drama has chilled them towards him and it has led to some tension between Giudice and other RHONJ co-stars.
Loving Luis

However, regardless of Gorga – or anyone’s – opinion of Luis, Teresa is not bothered. Here’s a quick rundown of how they got from “Hi, nice to meet you!” to “I do” (almost):
- July 2020: Although they didn’t go public with it, they started dating in July the same year Giudice’s divorce was finalized.
- November and December 2020: The pair went official, but said they were “taking it slow.” Gushing social media posts told the world that might be a little bit of a lie – they were hot and heavy from the start.
- January 2021: They took their first family trip together with Giudice’s four daughters.
- February 2021: The couple tells people they’re still “taking it slow” but rumors begin floating that they’ve moved into a $3.3 million home together.
- October 2021: They officially get engaged.
The proposal was a spectacle completely appropriate for their whirlwind romance. US Weekly writes, “Giudice shared the details of Ruelas’ proposal with fans during a cooking tutorial on October 28, calling the whole thing ‘magical’ and ‘amazing’ – and even a little scary.
During the Amazon Live session, she revealed that someone was a little quick to set off the pyrotechnics. ‘As he’s [proposing], the sparklers are going off and then the fireworks are going off, so I’m like a little kid, just looking all around,’ the reality star said — admitting she couldn’t hear Ruelas ask the question the first time.
Still, she said, ‘I’ll never forget it. It was like something you always wanted.'”
Now, it’s time for the big countdown. Given Giudice’s larger-than-life sense of fashion and design, the wedding will be a beautiful, elegant, and near- if not over-the-top celebration of their love.
