The Aussie Duo Mason and Julez Are At The Forefront of Up and Coming Talent
Social media is an ocean of talent. It's saturated with millions of artists of all sorts but most specifically music.

Social media is an ocean of talent. It's saturated with millions of artists of all sorts but most specifically music. Users often go viral for their jaw-dropping voices and poetic lyrics but less often do they make it into the industry after their 15 minutes of fame (a quite literal 15 minutes nowadays). There is a duo that has, however, that is taking their social media fame to the next level. Their names are Mason Coutinho and Julez Coutinho. CELEB had the pleasure of chatting with the pair about their rise on social media and where their career is headed next.
24 Hours Behind to Get 24 Steps Ahead
After going viral for their videos and seeing success with their music, the 15 and 17-year-old brothers moved across the globe from Melbourne, Australia to Los Angeles, California to pursue their dreams further. Along with them came their five siblings, Glen, Simonne, Brooke, Jack, and Billy, all to support their brothers.
Mason learned to play guitar around 10 years old. He eventually began singing and Julez was the mastermind behind the rhymes. Initially, music was a fun hobby. They would really only perform for friends and family when the opportunity presented itself. However, once the middle man of social media came into play, everything took off for them.
Mason shared, "We had just really started TikTok not too long ago, probably about a year ago." He continued, "we were really just posting random videos for fun and things just started to go crazy out of nowhere really. And, that kind of took a shock for us."
Julez added in, "for the TikTok kinda, we just always posted music covers, mainly on Instagram, mainly lifestyle videos when they started to take off." He shared a story about a time they asked their dad to purchase them a piece of music equipment for them that they promised to pay him back for, confident that their work would take off (and laughed, admitting that they also didn't think they actually would be able to pay him back). Julez shared, "went ended up making the money back, I think it was $100, in the first 30 minutes. It was pretty crazy." And, the rest is history for this duo.
"I feel like it was a lot of different things at the same time," shared Mason about what led to their success and popularity thus far. "We go to events, we talk to everyone there. We do a lot of things like that just to meet people because we moved out here not knowing anyone. So we kind of just do whatever we can because we love music so much. It's the only thing that we really want to do in life."
Mason and Julez on Tour
Mason and Julez released their debut album "Going on 21" on April 29, 2022.
"Going on 21" stands out with its diverse mix of genres from Pop to R&B and Hip-Hop.
Mason shared, "We've always lived with a lot of people in the house. And, I think that we listened to a lot of different kinds of music because there were so many people who liked different kinds of music in the house." Explaining, "So I think that's why we do a lot of different kinds of vibes. And, I think that unique sound comes from the voice and stories too."
They've been touring around LA to promote their new album at locations including the Mint and will be at Catch One on Friday, October 7th.
And, if you're planning on purchasing a ticket from the link above, make sure to listen to their newest release, "On My Mind."
The boys opened up to CELEB, "The goal is just performing."
"You never really know what the future holds for you. It's unexpected but it's really cool. It's been a really good journey so far and we're just at the very beginning right now."
