A heart-wrenching tragedy unfolded at a car dealership involving Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s son’s nanny, Yadira Calito, who lost her life after being struck by an SUV driven by an elderly woman.

The unfortunate incident occurred at Hamer Toyota in the San Fernando Valley last week. Reports indicate that on a Wednesday morning, an 84-year-old woman accidentally accelerated her Toyota RAV4 instead of applying the brakes, causing her vehicle to crash into the customer reception area.

Tragically, Yadira Calito, who was Kat’s nanny, was caught beneath the SUV and dragged for approximately 20 feet before being freed from beneath the vehicle. Despite immediate medical attention, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The elderly driver, who was at the dealership for car service, has not faced arrest as law enforcement determined the incident was a result of a grave misstep with the gas pedal. The impact of the collision also injured two male employees at the dealership, both of whom are expected to make full recoveries.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster were devastated by the tragedy, leading McPhee to leave her concert tour in Asia alongside Foster. McPhee had explained that she needed to return home due to a family tragedy, marking a poignant and painful chapter for the couple.
