NeNe Leakes – Andy Cohen is racist, Wendy Williams is on cocaine; I’m Suing!

When Andy Cohen had Wendy Williams on Watch What Happens Live, the conversation turned to Williams’ friend NeNe Leakes. What Williams said sent her friend into a fury, and she fired off a series of tweets accusing Williams of cocaine use, and both Cohen and Bravo of being racist.
What Did Wendy Say on WWHL?
During Cohen’s interview with Williams, Leakes’ departure from Real Housewives of Atlanta was brought up. Cohen said, “I’m want to go through some even more hot topics with the Housewives. What’s your take on NeNe announcing she’s leaving the show? And are you two still close buddies?”
Williams responded flippantly, “NeNe is my friend. And I know her as Linnethia, I don’t know her as this person on reality TV, just what I watch. But I believe, and I told you this also, I believe that this is not a truth. NeNe has quit the show several times, and you’ll have her back. NeNe likes attention. Dramatic attention. I don’t know what NeNe is going to be doing for money. I’m not trying to count coins. But, you know, the Housewives is that one thing that all the girls use to promote their other stuff. And while NeNe is as famous as Bethenny, Bethenny has turned it into a legitimate, multi-million dollar situation. Do you know what I mean, Andy?”
Cohen responded, “Yeah, it’s a great driver for promotion, and it’s a great place to be known and be out there.”
Williams continued, “And what are they going to do? Is it going to be Greg and NeNe, you’re gonna give them another reality show? That’s boring. How about NeNe being a grandmother? That’s boring. NeNe and her own kids? That’s boring. NeNe trying to figure out Hollywood? That’s boring.”
Cohen “Well, I mean, Listen, I think she probably has a lot of opportunities. Hopefully she will come back at some point.”
Williams interrupts with, “She did say that the phone is always ringing.”
Cohen, looking uncomfortable, agrees, “Yeah I don’t doubt it, I think her phone is always ringing, I mean she’s done a million other shows.”
NeNe Takes to Twitter in a Rage
Leakes caught wind of the interview, and boy did she have some thoughts on the whole exchange. Lakes first tweeted, “both are f their ratings are LOW! Bye QUEENS!”
As the interview continued, Leakes’ opinion of it did not improve, and moments later, she added, “She on cocaine so they should stop using her to talk! They both need my help with their poor ratings.”
As though accusing pal Williams of cocaine use wasn’t enough, Leakes wasn’t anywhere near finished. After tweeting, “Keep trying me sir and imma let the world know who you really are,” the reality star dives into the heart of her accusations, claiming, “I will ALWAYS eat and eat good! Believe that. I have ALWAYS believed in multiple streams of income so the leakes are good you ole cocaine head and you ole racist. No one knew you until YOU knew me. Remember I’m ICON. Don’t forget.”
‘It’s War’ with Bravo
Leakes wasn’t finished, turning her focus on Cohen and Bravo and what she feels is a systemic racism working against her. The 52-year-old tweeted, “They ALWAYS manipulating black women to say negative things about each other while they sit and enjoy us tearing each other down! Remember #BLM Remember #breonnataylor REMEMBER the most racist networks.”
The reality star added two more tweets, this time declaring war on Bravo and planning a lawsuit; “They gone leave my name outta these shows. Send me your best discrimination attorneys info to [email protected] ITS WAR,” was followed by, “The racist is the master manipulator! They using me for ratings like they have always done.”
Leakes Looks to Fans For Support
After declaring war on Bravo, Leakes rapid-fire retweeted a handful of comments by fans defending her. The fans agreed with Leakes that Williams’ comments about her friend were out of line, that Cohen manipulates and gaslights people, and that Bravo could have offered Leakes her own show.
Leakes concludes the night by tweeting a picture of Kyle Richards, Ramona Singer, Teresa Giudice, and herself that show the other 3 women being booked on every episode, but Leakes only being offered 6. The 52-year-old captioned the image, “We strictly talking the OG’s. I was the ONLY BLACK OG. My white counter parts were elevated and given full season episodes EVERY season. Each season i was given less & less. Don’t ask me, @ Andy and @ Bravo and ask them why.”
Leakes wraps up with, “So much you guys just don’t know! I’m going to bed now! The systemic racism is greater than you will ever know.”
What’s Next for Leakes?
The sky’s the limit for the successful entrepreneur and businesswoman. Although Williams seems to snidely suggest that Leakes would have trouble paying the bills without RHOA, Leakes seems unconcerned. Cohen does have a history of baiting the women into turning on each other, and accusations of racism against Bravo aren’t exactly new. Whether or not Leakes will follow through with her threat to sue the network remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Leakes feels done with the whole situation.
It’s unimaginable to most of us that someone who claims to be friends with Leakes would show up in public calling her friend boring and unlikely to succeed, but as Housewives fans know that sort of thing can be par for the course. Will Williams and Leakes reconcile, or is this the start of another feud? Time will tell. For now, Wiliams, Cohen, and the Bravo network will be keeping a nervous eye on Leakes as she decides what to do.
