Wynn Las Vegas’ long-anticipated supper club is finally open. Delilah debuted this weekend with Justin Bieber taking the stage inside the restaurant and lounge Saturday evening. Over at T-Mobile Arena during UFC 264, Conor McGregor faced off against Dustin Poirier. While the McGregor/Poirier fight didn’t exactly go as planned, the rest of the weekend went off without a hitch.

Delilah Opening Weekend

Delilah

Wynn teamed up with The h.wood Group to bring Delilah to Vegas. In Los Angeles, Delilah is already a wildly popular destination and the creative minds behind the Wynn Las Vegas location knew that it would strike the right chord.

Delilah is beautifully crafted to transport guests back in time. You stroll through the doors and feel like you’re in a 1950s supper club from days of yore; complete with all the lighting, sounds and sights you’d expect. Oval tables ringed by stylish sofas and half-moon upholstered chairs give it a laid-back but opulent vibe and the array of chandeliers and soft lights set the mood for a night of indulgence and fun. The classy dinner destination opened this weekend and in true Vegas fashion, the weekend was a frolic and a romp.

Delilah is more than just a place to eat dinner, it is a full-fledged dinner and show, as guests will be able to enjoy performances taking a whirl around the tables in the jazz-club-like stage setup. Food covers all Americana bases, from cheeseburgers and chicken fingers to New England Crab Cake, a “Chicken TV Dinner,” and more. Guests looking to live it up a little more can order caviar service and “The Perfect Bite,” which includes sea urchin and black truffle. Favorite desserts making an appearance include carrot cake and sundaes.

The culinary indulgences were crafted by Executive Chef Josh Smith, who is a Vegas native. Smith formerly worked at Bardot Brasserie in Aria. Cocktails for the club were all brought to life by lead resort mixologist at Wynn Las Vegas, Mariena Mercer Boarini.

As Delilah swung into action this weekend it was a new era in Vegas.

Justin Bieber Takes the Stage

One of the highlights of the weekend involved Justin Bieber taking the stage at the Encore Theater in his socks Friday night for a one-hour performance in front of a sold out audience of 1,500. Later that night, he hit XS Nightclub to perform five songs.

But Bieber wasn’t the only star shining this weekend. Kendall Jenner DJ’d briefly alongside Zack Bia and snapped selfies with him. At one point, Jenner jumped up on stage and gave everyone shots of her 818 Tequila, alongside Hailey Bieber. Celebrities who attended the weekend event include Addison Rae, Bob Kraft, Drew Taggart, Kourtney Kardashian, Jared Leto, Kit Harington, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Fox, Mel Gibson and Tyga. Fox and Kelly were adorably cuddly the whole time, sticking close to each others sides.

Other celebrities who performed include Drake, Joe Rogan, and Dave Chappelle. Andra Day performed for the Vegas Magazine cover party on Thursday. The weekend’s whole vibe was one of borderline debauchery and full-steam fun; exactly the sort of atmosphere you want to capture for the opening of a club meant to nod at the golden eras of Hollywood and Vegas. It was one of Vegas biggest nights in years, and in a town that constantly one-ups itself, that’s saying something.

Conor McGregor Gets a Leg Up On the Competition

Conor McGregor

The one aspect of the weekend that perhaps didn’t go according to plan but definitely went big was the fight between McGregor and Poirier. People expected a drawn-out battle to the blood between these two UFC titans. What they got was a match cut short.

The night was full of big matches, but McGregor and Poirier were arguably the most anticipated showdown. Both athletes are at the peak of their career and physical condition. Both have a number of impressive wins under their belts. They showed up primed and preening; ready to make the Saturday night headlining bout something for the history books. And it was, in a way.

After the first round ended, McGregor took a step back and his leg appeared to shatter beneath him just above the ankle. It was a horrifying sight to witness live and the pictures are gruesome. Poirier has speculated that the break actually occurred during the fight when McGregor used that leg to block a strike from his opponent. The fight was awarded to Poirier as a TKO. CBS reports, “Speaking at the UFC 264 post-fight press conference, [UFC President Dana] White said that a fourth fight between Poirier and McGregor would be considered once McGregor — who will have surgery on his injured leg on Sunday morning — is ‘healed up.’

“It sucks, it’s brutal and it’s not the way you want to see fights end,’ White said. ‘Dustin Poirier will fight for the title and when Conor is healed and ready to go, we’ll do the rematch.’”

While the injury looked to be excruciating, McGregor continued to talk smack ring-side even as his leg was being looked at by medics. It’s always concerning when an athlete sustains an injury, much less one so severe. However, the drama of how this fight ended and the promise of a rematch down the road will be good for both McGregor and Poirier’s careers; the anticipation will build for a long time.

Now that the weekend is beginning to wind down, Delilah will settle into a more regular pattern. But that doesn’t mean it’ll be any less exciting; if anything, the best is yet to come.
